Bonham's foot is incredible | Reviewer: barabus | 12/31/07
The foot work on Bonham's bass drum is plain ridiculous on this track. It weaves so tightly with Page's riff in the heavy part of this song. Plant's screaches become a bit annoying towards the end. Every now and then, he needs to know when to shut up, but he's Plant and he can do whatever he wants, he's earned it. You gotta love Jimmy's slide solo when he hits the foot pedal and changes his guitar effect, it works so well.
Makes dying easiar. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/8/07
This song is even better on DVD-there are things that the CD does'nt capture-not that its still not great. Watching Page work his ax and Plant push his vocals- it does'nt get any better. I have been and will remain the ultimate Zeppelin fan-until My Time Of Dying.
LED ZEP IS ROCK AND ROLL | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/2/07
Led Zeppelin was so far ahead of its time as a progressive rock band, that todays rockers are still trying to catch up.
Yes, there are some nice solid rock and roll band making head bopping music today, but none before or since could take a slow, fast, blues, or the groups own written song's, and make nearly everyone one of them into a rock classic that set the standard for every band that desires success in the biz.
In My Time Of Dying is a perfect example of this.
The lyrics of this song are almost certainly based on, or were influenced by, the roots of rock and roll, the black blues guitar tune.
Yet, when Zep reworks it, playes it, add's Jimmy Page's imaginative and uncopyable style, with Robert Plant's golden, creamy vocals, this song becomes a tour de force of what rock is, used to be, and should be today.
If you grew up in the 70's, to hear this song evokes memories of that era like no other classic rock song can. If you hear it for the first time today, you find yourself wondering why no one makes rock like that! You say, damn, that was bad ass! THAT, is rock and roll.
I think the fact that a classic like In My Time Of Dying, was not played to death like, say, Stairway To Heaven, another all time classic that will never be copied, makes it that much more stronger when you do catch it on sattelite radio, or when you break out the Zep anthology cd.
Led Zeppelin's unique underground, and at the time probably pretty risky, style of rock, will always be the gold standard for rock and roll of any and every kind.

Definitly a must listen to if becomeing a Zep Fan | Reviewer: Michelle | 10/25/07
I've been listening to Zep since I was 15..I'm now 31 and still absolutely appreciate Zeppelin just as much as I did then. I found Physical Graffiti and other Zep albums, among my much older brothers old vynil records. This song was the first tune I picked to listen to. I was struck by the unbelievable power John Bottom put into those drums. I found myself closing my eyes and flailing my arms to the beats of the drum and still do every time I hear this song.LOL listening to it in the car, I pound my hands against the steering wheel, it's just freakin rockin. Made me a hooked Zep fan to this day. Anyway...I agree with the last post. To get the true appreciation of this song you must crank it up and listen to it on good quality speakers no doubt.I have a pair of Bose noise canceling headphones hooked up to my laptop, it's AMAZING!
Loud as poss | Reviewer: Craig | 9/18/07
With this style of Rock you need to listen loud and preferably on a quality system!
Led Zeppelin were a phenomenon ,probably the greatest band ever, and In my time of dying is sensational, Bonham's drumming is a benchmark for all the worlds drummers and still remains to this day.Is there a better front man than Plant? Possibly Mercury?
So listen to arguably the greatest Zeppelin track , listen to four superb musicians,Feel the tingle up your spine and the hair on your neck raise. But listen as loud as possible.
