I really love this song, but I need to say something... | Reviewer: Daryn | 11/2/13
People can listen to whatever they want. Whether it's rock, pop, rap, motown, soul, dubstep or whatever, it's all totally cool. Have whatever opinion you like, but screaming 'IM 12 I LUV ROCK, POP AND RAP MUSIC SUCKS IT HAS NO ~FEELING~ TO IT' on the internet isn't going to get you any admiration from me. There are many modern pop songs which have very in depth meanings, and saying all of it is computer made crap is just BS. What about Adele? She has one of the most moving voices I've heard and many of her songs have an emotional significance to her. 'Someone Like You' is about someone she used to love and be together with and they cared for each other very much, but they went their seperate ways and he is with someone else - she is singing about that yes, she is still a little sad and misses him, maybe even still loving him, but she puts her emotions after him and is wishing him and his new lover all the very best. Now THAT is 'feeling'. (that is my interpretation of the song, anyway).
What I am trying to say is that not all pop and rap songs are bad. Not all classic rock and oldies songs are good. You shouldn't put yourself above others because you believe your music tastes to be better than everyone else's. Respect other people's tastes because we all like different things, even if it is 'computer made crap'. People shouldn't make fun of your tastes either, and call them out on it if they do.
Like I said, have whatever opinion you like on different genres of music, just be respecful and don't let people make you feel bad about what you like and vice versa.
Icelandic Heritage | Reviewer: Rob | 10/9/13
I think I love this song so much because it speaks to my Viking heritage and I can envision the long trip across vast seas aboard a longboat and the ensuing battle with axes and swords clashing against shields and flesh.
well..... | Reviewer: Ironwolf | 9/13/13
Getting ready to go over there, still 18, ready to fight.we were torn over this song some thought the opening ah ah was an organ. Could not change their minds so we adopted it as our theme song. Pretty scary to attack a bunch of men singing the immigrant song as loud as possible. Love the song. When I hear it now I remember my lost friends. God bless them and thier familys.
WTF has happen!! 60's & 70's to deep for ya!!! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/16/13
We were smoking pot as fast as we could grow it back then, and we all understood what each band was about and what the lyrics were saying. Music had life/world meaning! Today i don't believe they spend a full day putting this sht together! Your generation actually thinks the crap they spit out on stage today has great meaning. Its sad the rap crap is surviving. When your 75 and in the elevator you will say to your self, what the f! Fools are you!
Retort to well put message of wise words! XD | Reviewer: Daniel J Dannheim | 7/30/13
I born in 85...and had trying times myself, but alas i found myself cured of what emotionally ailed me by becoming a musician myself. First song i ever learned was the same one literally every would be guitarist from the 70's learned; LedZep's "stairway to Heaven" (houses of the Holy)I've never stopped playing, and am now quite the accomplished musician.
But neither here nor there...I truly stoppedin to say that Madam Amy, I couldn't have said that any better myself! BRAVO ma'am. Indeed musical sound is going to be progressive as it moves along with the people, and the times they carry with them. As will the musical tone (Aggresion, Depresion, ect.) but Zeps tone, (despite a few very profound, and very cryptic messages) was to capture a mellow flow, that is freedom and uncondtional love...And i would agree ma'am (to the few true musicians who can acheive such height that is) Music truly can reach across time and still hold sway in our lives...true music becomes immortal as do you with it. Anyone who wants to argue that only need think the name Beethoven.
It's the way of things | Reviewer: Amy | 6/16/13
I'm a bit older than most of you (48) and I saw Ledzep twice in the 70's, but as before, so today, there were people in the 70's who loved music from the 60's and late 50's. it is the way of the world. What you take away from it is that music is a statement of the time: I lived the 80's and they were a scary time for the lower class people ( people who had little money). It was all about wealth and flaunting it. What makes bands like Led Zep so timeless is their ability to reach across time and draw you in.
wtf are you people on?? | Reviewer: Penny Lane | 5/31/13
So basically a certain one of you thinks we all must please the world and have a wider taste in music so OTHER people find us more interesting?! I don't like pop, it has no soul and its just utter rubbish, I don't like rave, hip hop or thrash metal or classical.
I like kinks animals manfed mann, Beatles, ZEPPELIN (THE MOST) lynyrd skynyrd, guns n roses, thin lizzie, aerosmith, White Stripes, The Darkness, Elvis, general 60's beat music and DAVID BOWIE (TOP ALSO) Garth Brookes, Michael Nesmith, Creedence clear water, blues, blues rock and A LOT of other stuff but it all pretty much revolves around the 60's and 70's. I despise 80's it makes me want to slit my own throat! I like ONE OR TWO classical songs/opera folk whater... but very little. And so now according to a person on here I am a dick?! I have great music tastes and many musicians and band members I know look at my collection and say while it is not widespread they'll take their hats off to me because EVERYTHING I like is good! WELL EXCUSE ME FOR NOT BEING SHALLOW AND GIVING IN AND PRETENDING TO LIKE OTHER STUFF JUST SO I AM "APPARENTLY MORE INTERESTING!" But I do not want to be another sheep in the world! A follower! I want to be MYSELF. And MYSELF thinks todays music has very little to offer! I make PLENTY of friends who only like this sort of music I do. And I am not about to be fake (like a lot of people I have met over the years) and pretend to like something that makes me want to slice my own ears off! When I was a kid at school all the other kids ignored me cos they loved Take That and Boyzone whatever these bands were called then, I was the 13 year old wierdo in the corner listening to Elvis, The Beatles, Zeppelin and Prince. I had just 3 very good friends in my class and they too adored Prince and Zeppelin, yet WE wer outcasted by others and called wierdo's!? We didn't cut other kids off we tried to fit in but just because OUR music taste wasn't of that day they left us out and picked on us. Ever since that day I have always thought well f**k you if you don't like me! and I will think that even more so these days, 16 years on! So excuse us "weirdo's" for not fitting into YOUR idea of interesting but after many brief experiences in YOUR world, I prefer mine... which I can honestly say ROCKS.
Hippie Overlords | Reviewer: Sergey Rysev | 2/16/13
The song is about how LZ were conquering audience in the US and, at the same time, were setting peace as a hippie ideal. It is indicated especially in the second verse, the correct variant of which is ‘Don’t you feel it’s so green in whispered tales of yore, Of how we calmed the tides of war, we are your overlords’ where ‘so green in whispered tales of yore’ is the same ‘land of the ice and snow’ where they are supposedly to come from, like Nordics did a long time ago.
Awesome song! But for you people that are all being assmunches about genres... | Reviewer: Doughberry (12 yrs old) | 11/14/12
I love LZ, but I also like rap too. I agree common pop has no soul in it, but some songs that are popular have soul in them just as much maybe even more then Led Zeppelin. So don't be a jerk and be all "LOL IM BETTER BECAUSE I LIKE OLD MOOSIK! (Spelt wrong on purpose)" to people who like rap. Just leave them be and you'll make many more friends and maybe even get them to like rock.
AGE PFFT!! Everyone loves Led Zep | Reviewer: Floyd Fan | 11/8/12
I have been a Floyd fan for decades and have always loved Led Zep too. I started my baby boy on both and he now knows the lyrics to immigrant song at the age of 3. He loves that song and asks me to blast it when it comes on. There are few bands that can stand the test of time and are truly enjoyed for many generations. ROCK ON !!
Great song | Reviewer: Isokay | 9/29/12
I have been reading through reviews and comments, and surprised at the negativity towards rap, pop and other forms of music. At 35 years, I am a fan of Heavy metal, rock, and various forms of music including Jazz, R n' B, Rap, Alternate, Blues, pop. In my musical collection you would find Tinie Tempa, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears,Beethoven, Status Quo, Bullet for my Valentine, Sinew, Example, 2 Pac, Gyptian, Disturbed, Led Z,Paramore to name a few. What I am saying is this "One Man's meat is another Man's poison". Music to me is all about the mood, lyrics and a lot about the organisation of the instruments and production.
it took this long.... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/19/12

everyone likes ledzep so get over yourself | Reviewer: megan | 9/20/12
"It's revolting how seemingly anyone and everyone lists their age as some unsolicited validation for liking music (usually) older than themselves. Got some news for all you who practice this godforsaken act, EVERYONE likes Led Zeppelin. Age hasn't a thing to do with it. Rock on (\m/)*_*(\m/)"
THANK YOU. you're not special for being 15 and liking ledzep. I used to describe myself as a woman with "the taste of a 14 year old boy or a 40 year old man" because guess what? THOSE ARE THE TWO MAIN DEMOGRAPHICS WHO OBNOXIOUSLY PROCLAIM THEIR LOVE FOR ZEPPELIN.
I mean, I started listening to zeppelin at 14 (nearly a decade ago lol...) and I still love singing along to the AAAAH-AAHs when this song comes on the radio, but I also like singing along to Carly Rae Jepsen when I'm listening to top40 in my car. Liking LedZep when all your peers are listening to Jay-Z doesn't make you ~unique~ and bragging about it just makes you sound like a dick. You know what makes you sound like you're 15? Only listening to one genre of music (whether that's "classic" rock, rap, pop, whatever). You know what's actually interesting? Having a widespread, eclectic taste in music and listening to music from all different genres.
im this many years old blah blah blah | Reviewer: B | 8/28/12
"i'm in my second trimester and i just LOVE Led Zeppelin"

Food for thought | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/16/12
Led Zeppelin were influenced by a variety of different musical styles, blues, jazz, ragge, rock n'roll etc. If they would have stringently decided that they were only goint to listen to rock music in the Beatles, Stones, Who genre when they were starting out in '67 we probably would not even know who they were today. Pretty much all og those great artists and bands that have made an impatc have in common great enthusiasm and an open mind to all the different things happing in music at any given time period. Joe Strummer always said "no input, no output", he was deffinately on to something with that.
