The Reviews about Tell Him (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by Lauryn Hill

Tell Him | Reviewer: Robert | 9/13/2008
    This is such an amazing song off an amazing album from an amazing human being. To me, the song speaks of spiritual love between us and our Father in Heaven.I love this song so much.
    Can I also say to Monica who referenced bible passages and Lauyn's paraphrasing of those passages....your comment and the way you tied Lauyn's lyrics with the passages made me cry...we are all spiritual beings and I pray that we can all co-exist in love.

    "Tell Him" | Reviewer: nothingmatters | 9/1/2008

    This is a great song. There are plenty of references to Bible passages in Lauryn's songs. Although some might interpret this as a love song, I think it is more of a spiritual song. It's way too deep and powerful to just be about a relationship with a man.

    LOVE | Reviewer: Jesenia | 1/27/2008

    I loveeeeeeee this song it's so beautiul and for the longest time I've wondered if it's religious but Im assuming it is cuz it says " nothing compares to the love that was shown when our lives were spared"

    Girl you gotta learn that song "Tell Him" | Reviewer: D.Baugh | 1/26/2008

    Yes Yes Yes... I love the net. Cuz I can always find people that feel the same why I do when it comes to Ms. Hill. I remember this song like it was yesterday. I always said I wanna find a woman that can sing this song to me. "But now that I'm older... all childish things end"

    And to Monica, thats hot how you peeped the references to the bible. I wouldn't call it a paraphase,but it was definitely influence

    It'll be alrighty

    I love the fact that human being could do things so magnificently deep | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/25/2007

    I'm so full of commotion every time (so many) I listen to this song.
    I'm proud that a human being could create things so magnificently deep as this song.
    Thank you Lauryn

    My Favourite Song Of All Time | Reviewer: denex | 12/10/2007

    I love this song so much, I've been thinking maybe it's cos of my girl Lauryn's voice, maybe it's the lyrics or a combination of both. I think it's really cos it virtually speaks about my kind of love, to friends, to the women I've loved, whom I really never stopped loving.

    Then there's the way the song catches you unawares. Cos it's not listed on the album, you don't really know it's there. And when you first hear it, you may not know it's scripture.

    This song is heavenly and I've put it on repeat like a million times, yet I never get enough of it still.

    call to love | Reviewer: Monica | 11/7/2007

    Ya'll recognize Lauryn's paraphrase of a Bible verse, right? She makes it so beautiful, so elegant.

    To compare, here's the word
    (1 Corinthians chapter 13, verses 1-13):

    If I speak in the tongues of men and angels,
    but do not have love,
    I am nothing better than a noisy gong or a clanging symbol.

    And if I have powers of insight into the future and understand all knowledge,
    and if I have enough faith to move mountains,
    but do not have love, I am nothing.

    And if I give away all my possessions, and
    if I even hand over my body to be burned so that I may boast of my faithfulness,
    but do not have love, I gain nothing.

    Love is patient,
    love is kind,
    love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.

    Love does not insist on its own way;
    it is not irritable or resentful;
    it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.

    Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

    Love never ends;
    As for prophecies, they will cease;
    as for tongues, they will fall silent;
    as for knowledge, it will pass away.
    For now we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will pass away.

    When I was a child,
    I spoke like a child,
    I thought like a child,
    I reasoned like a child;
    but when I became an adult,
    I put away childish things.

    For now we see through a glass, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know as also I was fully known.

    Faith, hope, and love abide, these three;
    but the greatest of these is love.

    classic song | Reviewer: stu | 10/25/2007

    I can't exlain why I love this song so much, the rest of that album is pretty good but for me this was miles away the best song and is easily one of my favourite tunes ever. The guitar arpeggio running througH it is beautifully simple and Lauryn's voice make s me melt, extremely heartfelt recording, I don't think you could sing like that without really meaning it. When I hear this song everything stops. I dont understand why it isn't listed on the album.

    Spiritual | Reviewer: Melani Padayachee | 8/8/2007

    A song that takes love to the spiritual realm. Transcends ur spirit away from all the fear that comes with love.
