The Reviews about Tell Him (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by Lauryn Hill

A love song for Jesus Christ | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/13/09

This song is def. about Jesus and not about a man. You can tell throughout the whole thing but esp. when she says "love is not boastful, love is not loud" and also "nothing compares to the love that was shown when our lives were spared." There's really no other way to read those two lines.

Throughout the song, in my interpretation and Catholic way of viewing the Trinity, she is asking God to tell Him she loves Him and needs HIm. As in, God, tell Jesus I love Him and need Him.

A deep soulful and love "about a man" song is "Nothing Even Matters." These are my two favourite songs ... ever.

May God blessed your heart Lauryn! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/8/09

When I first heard this song, I thought she was singing it for a man... Then after I look for the lyrics, I said to my self: This song is for No man, it is just for all mighty God.... knowing that make me enjoy even better this song!
Hope we listen to you soon Lauryn!!! JJC, Costa Rica

I wish sh'ed come back | Reviewer: Ashia Abdullah | 6/20/09

i know i'm only 16, but from listining to my parents cd's, at the age of 10 she became the best singer in the world. not too many singers can make me cry off of a whole cd and she does that. this song always gets me.

Divine wisdom | Reviewer: nalz | 1/14/09

Lauryn Hill - has exactly that , she has been anointed and has divine wisdom. Wisdom many cannot fathom her level of spiritual intelligence- hence they call her : crazy, unstable and many other things.

She epitomises humanity, i'm going through such a strong spiritual uplifment right now, i had forgotten about this song, was reading a random article and someone mentioned it was their favourite song- and i went on youtube , listened to it and OMG - i am filled with emotion and goose bumps for each and every time i repeat it.

She is amazing!

Tell Him | Reviewer: Robert | 9/13/08

This is such an amazing song off an amazing album from an amazing human being. To me, the song speaks of spiritual love between us and our Father in Heaven.I love this song so much.
Can I also say to Monica who referenced bible passages and Lauyn's paraphrasing of those passages....your comment and the way you tied Lauyn's lyrics with the passages made me cry...we are all spiritual beings and I pray that we can all co-exist in love.

"Tell Him" | Reviewer: nothingmatters | 9/1/08

This is a great song. There are plenty of references to Bible passages in Lauryn's songs. Although some might interpret this as a love song, I think it is more of a spiritual song. It's way too deep and powerful to just be about a relationship with a man.

LOVE | Reviewer: Jesenia | 1/27/08

I loveeeeeeee this song it's so beautiul and for the longest time I've wondered if it's religious but Im assuming it is cuz it says " nothing compares to the love that was shown when our lives were spared"

Girl you gotta learn that song "Tell Him" | Reviewer: D.Baugh | 1/26/08

Yes Yes Yes... I love the net. Cuz I can always find people that feel the same why I do when it comes to Ms. Hill. I remember this song like it was yesterday. I always said I wanna find a woman that can sing this song to me. "But now that I'm older... all childish things end"

And to Monica, thats hot how you peeped the references to the bible. I wouldn't call it a paraphase, but it was definitely influence

It'll be alrighty

I love the fact that human being could do things so magnificently deep | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/25/07

I'm so full of commotion every time (so many) I listen to this song.
I'm proud that a human being could create things so magnificently deep as this song.
Thank you Lauryn
