I was once Christian. A good one at that. But i didn't like wearing the name of being a christian because there are so many people out there who are extremely closed minded, and all of their attitudes are based on a book that cannot be proved to be true. I am a genuinely nice person, i am understanding, i don't judge people. But i cannot stand it when people judge a song by it's lyrical content alone. This band is extremely talented. Do your research people, this band is made up of religious people, and they do not necessarily reflect their beliefs in their lyrics. THE BAND ARE AMAZING! THE LYRICS ARE, AS ALWAYS, VERY CLEVER!! Leave it at that....

To me, this song is about the total lack of meaning in our existence "Some kind of purpose, a glimpse of a light in this void of existence"

and so on..

In the begining of the song all he wants is to die, and be ridd of the meaningless hell that is life.

later in the song he goes on to say "For you are no longer alone, walk with me in hell"

This song isn't about religion. It is about the fall of codependency. Some songs have been referred to as being anti-religious, but a majority of it is political or misanthropic. Listen to LOG songs like, "We Die Alone", "Omerta" and "Contractor" and you will see what I mean.

Fuck this song is epic! The anti-religiousness of this song is awesome, coupled with the epic riffs and vocals and tribal drum beats makes this one of my all time favorite tracks! Long live metal!

Ok, I know ppl hear what they want to hear, but just because a band is named after Jesus and you haven't trained your ear enough to understand them doesn't mean they are Christian! LOG used to be called burn the priest until they got a record deal. And just because it's Antichrist doesn't mean it is bad. I'm a satanist and listen to christian music a bit. If you like the music u don't give a fuck Wht religion the band is!

Lamb of God are definitely Christian and I think the songwriter of these lyrics has been saved and accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. I don't see any quotes from the Bible, although I do see some reference to the 4 gospels and the book of revelation.
Their music is definitely a strong message to ALL individuals out there.

I can't believe this has devolved into a senseless argument about religion. If you have to make yourself feel good by trash talking a band just because they don't hold your religion then you need to seriously think about the image you are showing for your religion. This song has to be one of my favorites though, and I'm currently learning the drum part to it.
