you're never alone | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/5/11
the hell he's talking about is here on earth.
"Some kind of purpose, a glimpse of a light in this void of existence."
i actually can have an encouraging meaning.
like he thinks this world is shit.
but he doesnt want to experience it alone.
to listen or no to listen, what a dilemma... | Reviewer: MetalMaster | 11/9/11
listen to it, like it, not like it, is your problem,
if you want to understand something satanic out of it, thats your point of view your opinion, based in your perspective, I personally find more deep meaning to it, there's three diferent types of meaning to a song, a paint, a drawing etc. the artist creating it I mean the meaning that for him the song has, the effect or meaning he is trying to proyect towards us, and the external meaning that the observer acquires by just glancing at it, a quick listening wont tell you anything, or listening with a bias mindset wont get you far, because your opinion was already made way before you even reached half of the song while it played. you gotta have a mind that filters even your own opinions so you can be authentic. like or like not, is like colors everybody has a diferent color for their likes are different from each other.

Mark Morton Says... | Reviewer: Josh | 8/14/11
Mark Morton says something different... via twitter: he said he wrote the song as a love song to his wife. The chourus pretty much states what the song is supposed to be about. You're no longer alone. Walk with me in Hell
Idiots | Reviewer: DillonBunch | 8/8/11
I have seen Lamb of God perform live Twice and BOTH times they performed, they said that this song was about all the hard workers and Roadies who contributed to their success.
If you watch Lamb of God: Terror and Hubris, it states they use Religious references because people can connect with them.
Fuck the arguing, enjoy the music. Turn it to 11 and Rock the fuck out!
Overanalyzing at its worst.... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/4/11
Just because the song has hell in its name doesnt make it a religious song in any way. The band has repeatedly stated that this song is about codependency (google it).
Believe or disbelieve in whatever you want, but DO NOT ALTER the world around you to conform to you beliefs/disbeliefs. Do not let your personal experience change the meaning of this song.
So many listeners drag religion into music and 99% of the time it's bullshit.

Lol. The bible is 100% true and im a parrot that wins the lottery everyday and pukes out whole pizzas...for you close minded christians im being sarcastic...lamb of god is no where as near satanic as say Deicide who titles songs such as Fuck Your God..go cry on their page ok? If people dont believe in christianity dont cram it down there throats. I personally dont believe in christ or satan. But lamb of god kicks fucking ass and i would walk with them in hell anyday. And yes even though idont believe in satan. Zomfg!!!! :0 and stop arguing about religion. No one gives a fuck. Oh and if and log fans are wondering im pretty sure Mark Morton wrote this as he did vigil descending and remorse is for the dead.
Piss Off | Reviewer: Tim | 7/27/11
All you religious people in here carrying on about worshipping Satan etc., can you please do us all the favour of fucking off.
If we wanted a lecture on our damnedness, i'd be sitting in a church, or maybe we'd all be on our way to get into a confession booth. But we're not. So get the fuck off my land

L.O.G. = Awesome! Randy not only has an amazing voice but what he sings is elloquent and intelligent. With the other great musicians in the band backing him up the songs have a meaning, emotion and can really make you move. Well said "e" (5/26/11), everyone just stop bitching and enjoy the music! If it can get mormons and satanists to get along it has to be a good thing right?

You all suffer from a delusional perception of reality | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/8/11
I wish satan were here to bitch slap you all. Everyone in this band is super satanic and worship the devil non-stop (see the "Walk with me in hell" DvD) You'll notice all kinds of satanism at work. YES they are riligious... satanicly so. Randy sacrificed a baby and spread the blood on Willies guitar for good luck (See the "Walk with me in hell" dvd) All they want to do is torture babies and praise satan. Anyone who doesnt see that is blind and most likely 80% retarded or Autistic. \m/ Hail satan
DUDES!!!! | Reviewer: Daniel | 6/8/11
Hey dude, I am a christian so just wanna say, FUCK YOU IF YOU DONT LIKE US! Yeah not a very committed christian :D I just wanna say I respect all beliefs, and also this song is sort of a love song. In an interview I believe that the singer sais this song is actually a love song for his wife asking her to go through the good and the bad with him. Not everything has to do with religion you freaks!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting... | Reviewer: e | 5/26/11
...reading the first page of comments and there are anti-Christians praising the band for their anti-religious stance, and Christians praising the band for their Christian stance. Then arguing about it. I love it.
I'm with Anonymous poster, 3/29/11 - stuff the stance of the band, enjoy the music! FWIW I'm Mormon and agree with the Satanist that it's about the music. If you find a message in it that uplifts you, or solidifies what you feel, then great. I believe there is only one truth.
My Satanist friend will agree with me. But our truths are different.
Celebrate the difference and learn from one another, rather than cut each other down. For that is truly what makes you a moron, in whatever deity (or for the atheists, celebrated author)'s eyes.
To me, I read this as a song about praying for blood, cleansing, flood (references to Revelation, Noah's flood?) ending the "lie of a life can as quickly dissolve". So what happens to our bodies? A Christian would think that our body dies and dissolves back to the Earth, and the soul is released to the afterlife. If we're decent enough, we go to Heaven to lead a glorified existence, if we're naughty, we're off to the darkness of hell.
Which brings me to the next bit: "We seek only reprieve and welcome the darkness" - so we *seek* reprieve, but we're welcoming (accepting? understanding? unafraid?) of the darkness. We are hoping that God will reprieve us our sins, but we're unafraid of facing the darkness of hell.
"The myth of a meaning so lost and forgotten" rings very true with myself personally. Mormons believe that the church in general lost it's way, and the Gospel was restored when our prophet Joseph Smith found the golden plates which were translated into the Book of Mormon (for a quick pop-culture rundown that is surprisingly accurate, see the South Park episode on Mormons, or go see the Book of Mormon musical, if you can't bring yourself to actually chat with one of our missionaries).
Now I'm not saying I think these guys are Mormon, but I'm pointing this out, as everyone is taking their own meaning from these lyrics. This happens to be what I see in it.
The chorus I think is pretty self-explanatory. We're alone together in Hell. Right now. The point of the song is, this is Hell, we're in it here and now.
The next verse is the most Christian I think - praying for a Saviour for deliverance for some purpose light in the void. Void is darkness, which brings us back to my earlier comments on darkness being Hell which comes back to the chorus in that we are currently *in* Hell.
So here's what I think: these guys are more Catholic and probably rebelling against the organisation of the Catholic Church more so than anything else but you know what none of this matters, and if you let it matter it gets in the way of one of the most ripping bloody songs that is out there in Metal.
You're all my brothers and sisters - in Metal let me add - so cut the secularism bollocks and shut up and MOSH gofukya.
i dunno | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/26/11
this song totally rocks. why should religion come up in the discussion? just listen to the music, if ur into metal, you'll love it, if not, go to a different page. i only recently discovered LOG, which is surprising, since i've been a metal fan my entire life, and i agree, this band is highly underrated. been listening to them almost exclusively for months now. the guitar is soooo amazing in all of their songs, just blows me away.
how 'bout this | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/12/11
the song is great...bt this is to all those 'antichristian' motherfuckers out there...fuck u assholes...u hav no right to say these things about anyone who believes in god...or god himself...u know these guys dont mean wat dey say abt god n use it just for shock value...n if they dont mean it why should you...you assholes will jus be shit eaters forever...i hope ur satan rots in hell...anyways nice song:-) \m/
