No noffense to old school rock, it didn't provide a satisfactory experience. Oh shit, it was good at first (I mean hell, I still listen to AC-DC, props to Angus), but I needed to enter a new level of the rock genre. I was first introduced to metal when my cousin let me listen to S.O.A.D. (System of a Down for all of you heathen fuckers out there) and I instantly fell in love with B.Y.O.B. (I continue to listen to it to this day). With it's combination of heavy ass guitar riffs and screaming, who doesn't love it? Needless to say, I was hooked. S.O.A.D. was my gateway drug into the metal world. (Still love 'em.) I soon began listening to other metal bands, past and present. My favorites include Iron Maiden, Slipknot, and Evanescence. When the Guitar Hero series came out, it only fed my hunger for metal. Ozzy, the Peppers, and Pantera now became available to me, and all of them remain on my top list. Now when Guitar Hero 2 was produced, bands I never knew existed were introduced to me; Warrant, Anthrax, and, you guessed it, Lamb of God. When I came to Lamb of God's piece, Laid to Rest, not only by the music but also the difficulty of the song(i first tried it on hard). When the song ended, I forgot all about beating the game(Laid to Rest is one of the last songs), I played again and again just to listen to it. Now when I bought Killadelphia, LOG's live Philladelphia album, I instantly turned to Laid to Rest. I was shocked at horrible Guitar Hero's voice cover was compared to this. I was addicted. With it's relentless guitar riffs and amazing singing/ screaming, I often skip to it on my iPod. Lamb of God proves that they rule the current metal scene with Laid to Rest. Keep rockin on you fuckers.
