Okay, first song I heard by them was mollys chhambers...prob. on the radio and I thought wow some kids wrote a solid rock song...good for them but I had no idea the rest of the Aha Shake album would be so powerful. They've got a 'tude and vibe in themselves-deep inside-that really comes across well to audiences and fans...and in their music. I hope they don't change..whatever that is inside...oh well.
the greatest band of my generation | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/25/08
the first kol song i ever heard was taper jean girl. from that point i became obsessed. their lyrics are so meaningful to them and thats what makes it special for a fan.
soft, the bucket, holy roller novacaine. red morning light, wasted time, on call... the most important songs in my life.
i hate bands who write about crap and then go to number one. until sex on fire, kings of leon never got the recognition they deserved but instead of giving up they just made more incredible music. not caring about chart positions.
followill follower forever! x

pure southern poetry!
there is no band out there right now quite like them. too often overlooked, the kings of leon are amazing in each & every track.
sex on fire has proven how they continue to develop their sound & push their boundaries to get incredible songs!!
milk, trunk, the bucket, sex on fire, king of the rodeo, on call, four kicks, california waiting, happy alone.. the list could go on.
fucking outstanding.
make sure you have a listen.

first time i ever seen these boys was on the main stage at glastonbury, was 2003 n a was waiting for oasis to come on, just caught the end of genius then they broke into mollys chambers, pure class, i was hooked from then, easily the best american band since the eagles, charmer, milk n the bucket are some of my faves
Swagger and southboy Poetry | Reviewer: Lachie | 4/16/08
i first heard Kings of Leon about 6 months ago. I remember it 5 in the arvo, and i had just gotten it onto my iPod. I'd never heard anything like it. The first second of "King of the Rodeo" will stay with me forever. i couldnt even distinguish half the words that Caleb sang. but i knew they were poetry. I havent stopped listening to them since. i recently got "Because of the Times". At first i thought : wheres the swagger gone, wheres the south in this album. Thats because i hadnt heard knocked up, or Black thumbnail, or anything like that. Knocked up, along with "King of the rodeo" are my two favourite songs of all time. the swaggers still there, its just more polished. and for that, Kings of Leon, i thank you. Nathan is the most amazing drummer of ALL time, reinventing drums and creating unheard of beats that change the meaning of rhythm. Caleb, you're a wild southern boy whose poet's soul voice rips through the air. Matthew, i wish that i could have your ear for tunes or your feel for keening sound. God-like my friend. Jared. jared jared jared. Bass line to Charmer will go down in history my friend. and that is just the fucking beginning.
Keep it up motherfuckers. you're kings, and always will be
from Lachie (yes im a guy, no im not gay, not that theres anything wrong with that)

'The runner'.. thank you for producing a song that one can relate to god with. I couldn't get into other genre's of music played at church's, this songs feeds what needs to be satisfied in me.
"fans".. premo.
You all have been privileged with the quality of taking something unique and making into a sucess, risky business.. run with it
i was livered when i missed you concert in wellington.. word is "charmer" was done to justice.. that bass solo would have killed.
calab and jared are Gorgeous

The first time kol came into my life was at the voodoo exp. 07 . this was their 3rd consecutive year at voodoo. i had never heard a song of theirs before that night. when they opened with black thumbnail i got goosebumps and they stayed with me throughout the show. Since then i havent taken theyre cd's out of my changer. their music has become my life soundtrack and i hope to hear more great music.

I was round a friends house one night and he asked me if i had ever heard of these guys and i had to say no. He had a copy of youth and young manhood and we listened to it once then again to make sure it was as good as we thought. Since then there has been no looking back. Seen them 6 times at gigs since.
Ask anyone what band has released an amazing first album then followed it up with an even better 2nd and then totally blew everyone out of the water with their 3rd. No other band has consistently released good music like these guys.
