Song is okay. Simon from American Idol was saying that the American Idol contestants (from every season, including the winners and runners up) were some of the most selfish people he'd met in his life. He said that when somebody gets voted off of the show, the contestants (off camera) would push and shove past each other trying to get to that person first just to look consoling and get in the camera shot. He said they're all pig-headed, so I don't like any of them. Kelly being no exception, and I wasn't very impressed when she didn't want the other contestants singing her song on American Idol, and when she didn't mention them at the Grammys. How selfish can you get? No one would know who the heck you WERE if it wasn't for American Idol, and you're only there because of them. Show some class, and be grateful. Geez. And what did she care when she didn't want the contestants singing out her songs! Stevie Wonder could very well wig out and say he doesn't want anyone singing his songs, but he doesn't. He's cool about it, even encouraging. Her songs aren't even that good either, so she shouldn't flatter herself.

This singer SUCKS BIG TIME. I never could stand to watch a whole episode of American Idol. I have to play this song at a wedding while this Girl with a good voice sings it. It's hard for me as a musician to even listen to that crap just to get the cords to play. This person that tries to sing this song is so bad, and personally I think the song is pretty lame also. They should get real songwriters/singers. They should also rename there show, leaving out America, that way no one would know that America has such a setup. -- Jeff
Jeff, sounds like sour grapes. I remember once playing "The Rose" for my father's funeral. My sister-in-law was SUPPOSED to sing this WITH me. However, she was a selfish pig and I finally gave up trying to sing along with a lalentless, YELLING, person. I am sorry that I even volunteered to sing this at my father's funeral and this idiot pushed her way in. You know how it is: you don't want to make waves or cuase any animosities during such an important time when we were all supposed to work TOGETHER, to give him his kudos at his memorial. SInce then, I won't even play that song even though I still know all the lyrics as well as how to play it on the guitar. Sometimes circumstances affect our feelings about songs.
So, I can see why you would hate a song that is sung by too many sloppy amateurs (which Kelly Clarkson is not!). I was touched by her performance on American Idol and it was a great moment.
Also, if your a professional, how come you can't spell the word "chord" and, instead, use a word to describe some sort of rope. Maybe it was a Freudian slip as you probably wanted to hang yourself before doing this son in public in lousy circumstances!

kelly clarkson is AMAZiNG.
and she didn't pick to sing this song anyway.
but whatever, she doesn't suck.
and if she does, thats why her album has been on the top 10 billboard chart for over a year right?
and thats why her songs breakaway, since u been gone, behind these hazel eyes, because of you, a moment like this, low, miss independent, & the trouble with love is have been in the top 10 charts over the years. some of the old ones are still on.
so shut up.

This song is very wonderful and touching. Anyone who does not like it
is a nut case. It is a person spilling their feelings,in their own special way. I love this song.
