I identify with this song having been married to a narcissist--I did figure out that the only possible way to have harmony in our relationship is if I was 'no one' and he got to be the someone. My role was to not "tread on his feet". I don't think this is a romantic song and I don't think Kasey intended it so. She speaks of the pain that many women suffer in marriage; how many women get behind their men and support the mans cause and lose their own identities. Kasey's music in general has some sarcasm and sadness and this song is at the top. I love this song because it draws out an issue that is far too real.
