Re: Johnny Cash forever!!!!!!!! | Reviewer: Christy | 9/9/2007 | Reviewer: Alan Mickleson | 12/29/07
"Why is it that people who has families let their children listen to Johnny."
I don't know... maybe the same reason they done fails ingalish class. Why is that people who has like on of Johnny Cash always goes saying 'has' when they done prob'ly means 'have' and vice versa (that is to say topsy turvy in hickspeak).
But to answer the point of your garbled question, maybe they just don't think. People used to let their children listen to Franco... people still let their children listen to Castro. Therefore, I guess, Fidel is also a great man and you should love him too. Embargo over. People let their children listen to a lot of idiots, (at least 95% of professional atheletes and actors are idiots) especially when the parents are idiots, too. Your statement means nothing, and your poor grammar only serves to undermine the poor logic you based it on.
btw, "If he did not like people then why would someone want to go to a prison where there was people who are murder's, rapest, and so forth?" Even if you hadn't butchered the word 'rapist' and inexplicably applied the possessive "'s" to murder (presumably, murderers?), that's still among the stupidest things I've ever heard.
Jon Jon the RACIST | Reviewer: Man in Black | 12/17/07
Im sure being from the South and white. Little Jon has had a few chuckles with race. But as far as the song that goes: "Ring that bell shout for joy. White man @sEe$ are hear? No more N!@@&^ Civil Rights. Led by N!@@&^ Q$&&^. America is for White. Africa is for Black. Shipping people FedEx to far away places and all that." This is Jonny Rebel use the link and find out all about Jonny Rebel. Someone on Limewire renamed the file to say Jonny Rebel (Jonny Cash). This was to market the song I'm sure. But not Jonny Cash for real.

Cash/racist/ship those etc. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/1/07
Brandon, thank you for your calmly stated and informative post. I just discovered this stupid, racist song today and immediately went and researched it, and your post clears it up nicely. I'd known that Cash, whose music I love, had had a some dodgy views in his earlier life, but I was shocked by these lyrics, and faced the disappointment and dilemma that you do when you find out something nasty about someone you dig.
So - he was, he did, and he changed. Straightforward enough. I live in a forgiving world. If I learn more credible information to challenge this, I'll think about it further. Until then, he's awesome!
Thanks again!
johnny cash was a singer, not a God, he could be like he want | Reviewer: arturo uribe | 11/30/07
johnny has the right profile for a racist man in that time. hi went to the army, he came from a conservative family., i he was a work class person,, in the u.s. not everybody with this profile is racist,, but in that time that was very common . c'mon in that time many people was like that, i'm against the racism, i'm from mexico, i live in mexico, but you can blaim someone just cause don't like some kind of people, no matter what, the mexican people can't blaim the u.s. people for dislike the mexicans, cause they are in their country,, in that time the black people were alinen people in that country, in mexico we don't like the "gringos" very much,, overall their nsync leaders in the goverment,, and please i've been in the u.s. and the black people they are so racist to,, not all of them,, but may be in same proportion than the white,, but the important thing is the respect that we should have for everyone,, at least thats the law in you religion,, cause thats says the holly bible,, i'm not bealive in god,, but i think that faith is a very good help,, but the churches that should dissapear,, especially he catholic one,, well that's my opinion, c'om take care of the important things,, johnny cash was a singe, no a President, i like his music, i don't care nothing else about him...

Shop those niggas back | Reviewer: brandon | 11/22/07
Johny cash did not write it, but he performed iton the Ed Sullivan show. The video is still on the internet.
Later on in life(70's) he talked about it. He said he realized how wrong he and everyone was back then. He was ashamed of the song and his views in his youth. Working with people in rock n roll, Charlie Pride in country and the people in prison enlightened him.
Response.. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/21/07
how the f-uc--k do you spell uncharacteristic right, and example wrong? PS: thats not evidence, its opinion.
"and why did his records sell so well. Why is it that people who has families let their children listen to Johnny. Johnny is a WONDERFUL MAN. EVERYONE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR THINKING SUCH A THING ABOUT THE MAN."
Many reasons, Different times. Back then you could beat the sh it out of a black guy and nobody would say anything, you could say Nig ger on the news and whatever else you wanted because black people were 2nd class citizens(if that).
and if you have nothing better to do then to tell people to be ashamed of themselves you need a new hobby
YEAH YEAH | Reviewer: anon | 11/14/07
''ring that bell, shout for joy, ship those niggers back'' come on people, if that doesnt sound racist to you then maybe you're all idiots. i love cash and his music he is a true ledgend but in some way i find them lyrics slightly racist. by the way i vote bnp. theyre not racist.
cash-racism-no | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/7/07
I don't think Cash was a racist. Haven't said that he did sing some racist and homophobic songs. One was 'ship those niggers back', although that wasn't just him, it was a collaboration the he did a song called 'homo trucker' with David allen coe.
His prison songs weren't racist.
My point is that if he was racist he didn't make it a point. If society was racist then he didn't make that a point either.
