not about getting high | Reviewer: jomama | 9/15/07

i dont think its about getting high... it's about the pressure of cheating, i think.
Oh twice as much
Ain’t twice as good (playing two girls at the same time ain't ballin, son.)
And can't sustain
Like one half could (it's better to have one girl that completes you)
It's wanting more
It's gonna send me to my knees (duh)

just what i read from the song... but what do i know?

John Mayer is amazing! he has the most amazing voice, and i'm seriously in love with it. all his music, everyone of his songs has just made a HUGE impact on me. I love singing to them. he is amazing, no doubt about it. i love john mayer!!

He Gets HIgh | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/2/07

I think this song is about smoking some dope. "Gravity" (i.e. coming down from the high) is what he wants to avoid. He's a talented kid though.

My take on "Gravity" | Reviewer: Lynn | 8/29/07

To me, not only does this song reflect how I feel about so many areas of my life over which I have no control over emotionally, but also, unfortunately, it reminds me of something Marilyn Monroe supposedly said near the end of her life...about how sooner or later, gravity starts to wear down your face and body. That's what I'm dealing with now, the loss of my looks due to gravity's downward and unrelenting pull. It's devastating in so many ways.

Beauty | Reviewer: Jay | 8/26/07

This song hit me hard, made a huge impact. Seems to be about every type of senseless addiction, including the chase for material wealth, that keeps people from the things that actually make them happy (health, friends, family). Thank you John Mayer, for helping to keep me where the light is...

intoxicating is right | Reviewer: Cris | 8/22/07

I don't think you have to be a man to relate to this song. I can't stop listening to it. I know that the lyrics resonate differently with evreyone that hears them....for me its about restlessness, of wanting to rid yourself of everything and everyone that is holding onto you, even though doing so make no sense. Melts me everytime I hear it.

i love this song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/18/07

Gravity | Reviewer: Chiquis37 | 8/9/07

Geez..this song brought me to my knees! Even for women there are things that these lyric apply to. Very wise beyond his years. Exactly what I feel I'm going thru now.
Despite the fact he's dating a chicken of the sea idiot, I still think he rocks.

The fight we all have | Reviewer: Bobby | 7/20/07

This applies to so many things. what wisdom beyonds this guys years. Ask anyone who has "gravity" of any addiction pulling them. The only shot, "just keep me where the light" is. We knows who's light.

One man's view | Reviewer: A Man on the edge | 7/6/07

Gravity details the fight of the middle age man who has it all but yet desires validation of his virility in the world best evidenced by his performance. It's not about his sexual prowess, but more of about the chase. Be weary of the chase....the dog who chases the bus and finally catches it......what does he do.......a loosing battle.....eventually he looses all. Mayer is beyond his years.....without question and unequivocally unparalleled. I'm out...think about it.

Yikes | Reviewer: Quinn | 6/30/07

My friend listened to the song blazed and he wept endlessly.

awesome music but... | Reviewer: lindy | 6/27/07

John Mayer is for sure my favorite artist. His music is captivating, and he is truly talented. HOWEVER, since dating Jessica Simpson, I have lost alot of respect for him. How can a man with so much passion and brilliance waste his time with a girl like her? It's sad.

Uhh? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/21/07

Doesn't gravity work against every object near the earth's surface? Gravitational force is the Gravitational constant times the product of both of the masses (one being the earth's mass, the other John Mayer or any other object) divided by the squared radius between them. Doesn't make him so special now does it?

i'm melting | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/9/07

awh. anyone who can sing and play like him would make the perfect boyfriend! *drools

intoxicating | Reviewer: Mac Volan | 6/7/07

Never was a big fan of john mayer. I heard the song on the radio, and recognized his voice instantly, yet couldn't believe that he came up with the song. A spelndid mixture of ray charles, norah jones and johnny lang. Sublime, inspiring and rich!
