amazing | Reviewer: kt | 3/1/08
I find it hilarious how the "haters" waste their precious time hating even more on something instead of doing something they like. I love John Lennon and believe in many of the same ideas he believes in. This song is great and if more people would actually take it seriously it would be nice.
R.I.P. John Lennon

At the very least, this song is a socialist dream world hinging on communism. It's a propaganda piece. It makes me sick and I turn the station everytime I hear it. Set your dreams on attainable things. Work hard and quit waiting for a handout. Stop waiting for someone to save you. Save yourself.
Interpreted by everyone differently | Reviewer: Sarah | 2/5/08
I think with all songs, Mr. Lennon's words can be interpreted in a number of ways. What you take from it is your choice. Sure it sounds odd to sing about no heaven only sky... to me the words are meant to remind us of what's important now, not what we have done. To me he's saying that without the complications of war, religion, hunger or greed, we would be free to be peaceful and non judgemental.
We did this one in choir in highschool and it was by far my favorite one to sing. I am designing my baby's nursery around some of the lyrics and artwork that he created for his son.
Farai's Best | Reviewer: Farai | 11/13/07
How can you not be a dreamer when you listen to this Lyrics. We live in a disgraceful world of greed today. What a shame that other people cant join us to become dreamers. God bless you John Lenon.
Lennon's Genius | Reviewer: yash dev sekri | 11/2/07
gone may be the days of the beatles and the days of the good 'ol times but this song sure holds good in today's times where we have more sorrows to bear than good memories to cherish . terrorism and war have split our world apart and i have lost faith in man's ability to love . but this song has amazed me since i first heard it as a child , even today i think it serves as a source of hope. dont worry Mr.Lennon i have joined your troupe of dreamers . and i believe all claims of this song being communist in nature are absolutely foolish to say the least . what lennon is trying to convey here is that he is tired of man's greed for more .
research for upcomming performance. | Reviewer: genni | 10/17/07
i am doing a performance that is including this masterpiece, and even though it is impossible to replicate Mr. Lennon's genius, i am going to try to do it honor.thought i would see of outher people liked the song as much as I.
the best song ever written | Reviewer: james buckie | 10/14/07
When the things which go on today under the name of persecution, nationalism and general bigottry and ignorance become too overwhelming for me and i feel like no ones on my side i listen to this song and feel better. this song is the answer to so many problems. if only people would open their minds listen to it's meaning more. it's also common sense.
totally touching | Reviewer: alejandra | 10/9/07
i am not very old, and not very wise yet either, but i think that this song, is really deep...it made a great impact on me...because its so true, people shouldnt be all material, but more soul.
The song has a unique idealism about peace and equality | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/3/07
I read some reviews about this song considering it with communistic ideology like having no religion, no possessions that coincides with communism. But i want to demand to this reviewer that communists had countries and had their parties' possessions or state possessions that banned villagers from their land properties and took everything for themself.
I think idealism of Lennon was that he was tired of human greed struggling for wealth and power against each-other in any sense: nations, religious parts, races, idealism and other influences that make people to differentiate from each-other.
C'mon guys-wake up | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/21/07
This is a fantastic song but Lennon was promoting a communistic idealogy. Look at the last verse-no possessions, sharing the world, no countries, live as one. It's all right and good in theory but unrealistic beyond belief. Man is built to survive, which makes a selfish instinct natural.
And Lennon does not want to take away everything meaningful to man. He wants to share everything meaningful to man (back to that Communism thing). Sorry guys but I think this could have been a campaign song for Lenin or Stalin.
Oh and our generation has NO control over the world right now because no one votes. You think baby boomers lost control?? Hell no. They just got old and cranky. Why else would health care and social security be the biggest political topics right now? THEY VOTE!
