Give Peace A Chance..and SHUT UP! | Reviewer: KiKi | 4/7/11
Ok all you people that keep calling John Lennon a hypocrite shut up! Ok so he said something things in his life that made him seem like one. But he was a brilliant man! Everyone is a hypocrite....so why just single out John Lennon oh that's right because you are jealous because you wil never be half the man he was! This is a song about giving peace a chance and you haters are going to come on here and try to give John a bad name because he did things when he was younger than you don't agree with. Well too damn bad we all do things in our life when were younger! So who cares if John Lennon was a hypocrite? I mean he influenced so many people and tried to make the world a better place to live. So shut up and stop dissing John Lennon!
RIP JOHN LENNON!!!!! IM GIVING PEACE A CHANCE FOR YOU!!!!
Did you ever think... | Reviewer: Lucy | 10/8/10
John Lennon, was a hypocrite. Aren't we all at some point? Did you ever think it was his way of drawing attention to some of the problems of this country/world so that people might stand up with him (or against him) and help participate in the fixing of those problems. Being a hypocite definitely gets people thinking about the issues at hand.
John Lennon was a true artist in more ways than one. His strongest most cunning was the art of making the "blind" see. He used, being a hypocrite to make people see the obvious issues that needed change.
By the way, being "a wealthy man, living off the fat of the country" is just about as American as you can be. You don't have to be a U.S. citizen to pay OUR taxes. You don't have to be a U.S. citizen to spread your wealth into the U.S. economy nor do you have to be a U.S. citizen to point out and critizize problems that need fixing. Most of all, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A U.S. CITIZEN TO HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. So my advice to you is, stop living off the fat of the land, close your eyes, stop talking and start understanding Y-O-U are not the perfect person you think you are. In other words become a hermit or find a better country to live in....good luck with that.
John Lennon's talent was given to him, aren't we glad he chose to embrace it and share a bit of HEAVEN'S MUSIC with us.
This-ism That-ism | Reviewer: Brittany | 10/4/10
If you hate John Lennon so much..why are you on this page? I guess some people thrive on negativity.
If Lennon was such a terrible musician, how did he write or have a part in writing hundreds of amazing songs and is remembered 40 years later?
Lennon was an innovator.
something about John | Reviewer: DROGA | 9/6/10
John Lennon was one of the 20th century's most public hypocrites. That's plain and simple. He was a wealthy man living off the fat of a country he criticized at every opportunity. He claimed to hate the paparazzi and media but spent his life in pursuit of the limelight. He was a mediocre musician and a mediocre songwriter th' ... ETC.ETC.
and i'm pretty sure, those douches, who post such filth about a great man, it was them, who murdered Him. and them, bada-bim, bada-bum! it was some kind of a kook, or something. just like in case with JFK.
You all... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/22/10
...fell for the troll. How about not feeding the troll?
John Lennon was a man with flaws and virtues.
He was violent, sure, sometimes maybe. He admitted to taking drugs, especially psychedelics, yet he was forgiven and even loved. Why?
He redeemed himself. He advocated for peace because of his bad experiences with violence. He felt loved when he was with Yoko, and that served as an impulse.
Ok, maybe he's a douche. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/2/10
Seriously Bryan? You call Lennon an angry little man and then joke about his assassination to people who are clearly impassioned fans?
You had some good points going until that comment. You were taking the high road and making an intelligent argument. Then you just went on to fulfill the douche prophecies.
Who could have imagined looking up lyrics would lead to so much mud slinging? This has been almost as much fun as watching the GOP trying to explain their expense accounts.
What's with all the name calling? | Reviewer: Bryan Abbott | 3/25/10
John Lennon was one of the 20th century's most public hypocrites. That's plain and simple. He was a wealthy man living off the fat of a country he criticized at every opportunity. He claimed to hate the paparazzi and media but spent his life in pursuit of the limelight. He was a mediocre musician and a mediocre songwriter that wouldn't have been able to cut the mustard had he not been associated with Paul McCartney and the Beatles. I've got one for you.... He spat on this country frequently... was an angry little man... Do you think he was humming "instant Karma" when he was gunned down? Just curious.
Love all the hate | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/22/10
In defense of a song called Give Peace a Chance, we get to see people spewing venom at someone who has a difference of opinion.
A man has been called a wife beater by someone who complains about things being overblown,
he's told to "suck a fat one" under a response titled Give Peace a Chance which ends with "don't say mean things about people you know nothing about."
and two months later is called a douche, and illiterate by a person who only knows how to capitalize the name John Lennon, and apparently just can't let go of an insult against a stranger.
Well done, the unintended irony is absolutely poetic.
God I love peace when it means only one opinion is acceptable, all others will be viciously attacked. As I recall, that's *exactly* what Lennon preached. Way to celebrate the man and the message, people.
BRIAN ABBOTT=DOUCHE | Reviewer: Kati | 3/11/10

give peace a chance(: | Reviewer: Kati | 1/8/10
Hey, Brian Abbott..go suck a fat one! John Lennon is/was 3 million times the man you could ever hope to be, and He and Yoko were NOT naked in either of the bed-ins. and so WHAT? peopple do drugs, it's just a big deal that he did them? you didn't persoally know him, so how can you say such things about him? this song is amazing, and the message it sends is so powerful, and meningful this sing is still popular today... 41 years later, so learn what you're talking about before you start saying mean thing about people you know nothing about, okay guy??
John Lennon was a person | Reviewer: Unknown | 1/3/10
John Lennon was inspirational. John Lennon was a lot of things. To wrongly accuse him of something with no proof to back it up is not a kind thing to do. So before you assume, do some research. One thing we have to remember, is he was a person; a human being. Everyone makes mistakes. I am extremly glad and proud that I'm doing my speech on him. John Lennon will forever be remembered.
