------ performed by Jefferson Airplane
Lewis Carrol | Reviewer: Useless Info Collector | 5/30/08
Lewis Carrol acutally suffered from severe migraines, so severe that they came with "auras", a rather uncommon side effect where your senses and perceptions are changed. It has been speculated, not sure if there's consensus on this or not, but that auras are like mini seisures in the brain. Most auras involve visions of tiny, repetive patterns, but some also involve criss crossing of the sensus such as smell and sound. Many think that was where he got his inspiration for the "trip". But it is also true that he taught a girl named Alice and the book was ment to be a childrens story.
So everyones right and wrong. He did "trip" but it was a natural trip, not that schrooms and whatnot aren't natural, but you know.
Bottom Line: song is freaking awesome and the book is a mind-bender.
A few points | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/23/08
1. The lyric is softly not sloppy
2. LSD occurs naturally in several plants and fungi. It was never 'invented', only isolated in the 20th century. It has been used for thousands of years
3. Lewis Carol was a 100% tripper (not necessarily acid)
4. The whole point of the book and the song is to encourage people to expand their minds, whether it involves drugs or not.
FEED YOUR HEAD
Funny | Reviewer: Don | 5/20/08
I see the lyrics people on the web have a tough time listening, so they go with the first person that writes what they "hear". I'm pretty sure the word they have as "sloppy" is really "softly".
When logic and proportion
Have fallen "softly" dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said;
"FEED YOUR HEAD

This is one of the coolist songs ever. Lewis Carrol didn't write his book's on acid trips of course b/c acid was not invinted in his time, but, shrooms, as stated in the book and movie make your mind expand, now to the song this song is about doing X and Shrooms and weed and relating it to Alice in wonder land b/c hey a great band mite as well write a song about a great book/movie
Come on, why does it matter? | Reviewer: Donald | 4/13/08
Who cares if it was or wasnt about drugs, its a good song and people on both sides will enjoy it. The artists are amazing and did what they did. Great music shouldnt come under scruteny because it may or may not be subliminaly or openly about drugs. It was a different time so it could have been, and it was still a time where not everyone was experimenting on different drugs so its hard to say, only the people who wrote it would know and they should be the only ones to say what its about. Speculation and unknown facts can destroy something so let the music be....just let it continue to play throughout time and history as a song generations will continue to listen to, dont catagorize it as a drug song....

For your information | Reviewer: This Guy | 3/29/08
The book this song was based on has nothing to do with drugs, despite what many think. The theme is logic gone haywire, but otherwise it is full of stories which Charles dogdenson (Lewis Carrol's real name) thought would entertain children becuase they entertained a girl named alice liddel.
The book was written in the 19th century so there is no chance that it was based on LSD which was invented in the 20th century. Notably Grace Slick wrote the song with the intention of slamming parents who put down drugs when they read to their children stories about mind bending experiences, so there is some chance that she was unaware of the song's time fraim, or indiffernt and only concerned with the experience, or a hippy who was REALLY good at singing.
It doesn't matter at any rate, just enjoy the song. There is no reason to story, incase you were wondering, other then the intention of it being written for the little girl named Alice Liddel.

its silly to say a game cant be good enough for a game guys, or girls.. the legend of OOT for N64 was one of the best games i will or have ever played and it definitely isn't top of the line anymore.
alright thats enough | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/15/08
guys, its a song, based off a story, that is based off of mind twisting drugs that are really swell. So rather than fornicating yourselves with the ridiculas amounts of information and backstory behind this song, perhaps you should all just enjoy it, and CHILL OUT!
