just absolute hiphop | Reviewer: Nutty | 9/26/09
how dope is this song. yeah i said dope, im hiphop baby. i done seen hiphop since its beggining in the 80's, to its unbeliveable creativity in the 90's and early 2000's to its untimely demise in mid 2000's and now. this song embodies what hiphop should be. All hes doing is being real. thats it. nothing about shaking your ass, money and all this b.s. that folk think they have to talk about to sell records. hes just given u insight on his life and the industry. some classic lines are all through this song. one of my favorite is "If skills sold Truth be told I'd probably be Lyricly Talib Kweli Truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense
(But i did five Mil)
I ain't been rhymin like Common since"
Just dope, absolutely dope.
a work of art | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/23/09
song is work of art. The hook is woven with history of each album connecting sincerity and drive and pain. It is a glimpse of his moment of clarity a revalation.
The lyrics is a breath of fresh of air honesty. Truly his story opening up his feeling about his fathers.
He talks about his struggle with balance of mainstream and "real" rap which he has been criticized for.
The beat fits the lyrics. Lyrically he gets ill
