Birmingham native Jones reportedly wrote the original version of the song in 1955; later, when he teamed up with Blackwell, the song was reworked and released in 1959. It was followed in 1960 with the other popular tune for which Jones is well known, “Good Timin’." The copyright for a song and most creative works vests immediately in the artist/writer. Because of the limited space on CD's and the like, proper credit sometimes gets lost. I believe this is as he intended, othwise, no airplay, maybe. Our sweet baby James very simply slowed the beat lyrics being central to his version. I love them both but Taylors' is actually sensual. Sing it all the time.
