The Reviews about Passing Afternoon (page 3/ 4)
------ performed by Iron & Wine

Magic | Reviewer: Tiff | 11/8/08

When I heard this song I cried its beauty was so subtle. Sam Beam can probably compete with shakespeare in writing. The magic of making you think for a moment of something so tragic, and beatuiful is mesmorizing. The first thing i thought of was two lovers, and losing one in other but finding themselves in their memories together. I am 14 and I appreciate this music, cant;t say that for the rest of the age group. Its music like this that reminds you of the precious life we all take for granted.

Awesome Song | Reviewer: Wendy | 9/7/08

I heard this song on House and I had to have it. It also reminds me of my Mom. This November 10th will be 4 years since I lost her. She was my best friend. She was there for the birth of her first grandchild 21 years ago. The memories that have passed and some we forget but as my son says that they pop up when they pop up.

Hold fast of your loved ones for you never know when God calls them home. I have my Moms dog and cat but they are 12 and 14 years old. I don't know how long I have them.

Iron & Wine are AWESOME!!!!!! Keep up with the great songs!!!

beautiful song. iron and wine (sam beam) is amazing.

as someone said, "such great heights" is a great song also - it is a cover of a song written by the postal service (a side project of death cab for cuties' ben gibbard)

I think i get it | Reviewer: SOLANAisSUNSHINE | 7/30/08

I also heard this song while watching house and it was so great i had to look it up. only after i listened to it without watching t.v. did i really fall in love. after reading all the reviews i mosltly agreed. im not sure why, but this song reminds me of my family, my mother more specifically. i couldnt really pin point what this song made me feel, but when i did i cried. i love my mother and i dont want her gone. im afraid to be alone...

on a happier note(not by much)i went to another website where the vast majority of the critics said the song was about a lost love, which really makes sense if you listen to it. she loves him, but she married someone different. or she loves him and he died and she has to move on. i think it might be that she loves him, but they divorced you never fully recover after a great love, they are still with you. wow this is an unnecessarily long review, but if i cant say it to anonymous strangers who can i say it to?

Beautiful song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/18/08

I've never heard such a song like this; the lyrics are so meaningful, and such a beautiful melody. I also ran along this watching House MD season 4 at Wilson's Heart. I also like Lion's Mane, and Such Great Heights.

Cheers, Iron & Wine.
I love the the song.

Tender | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/3/08

i love this song. and im not quite sure why. the way they sing it, slow and tender, they are in no rush.the title fits it perfectly. it makes me think about my family and the love i have for them and for that i thank iron and wine.

Sentimental | Reviewer: Lana | 5/21/08

One of my favorite songs of theirs. I love to listen to it when I'm feeling sentimental. When I'm thinking of my late father.

Also, if you like this, listen to Such Great Heights. It's also a great song.

slipping away | Reviewer: Joe | 9/14/07

We can all identify with this song--with slow, drifting afternoons and long-lost childhoods. These words make me want to hold onto the lazy strokes of noon which keep slipping by. Instead, time passes by faster and faster and we grow old, no matter how much we want to hold on. If that's the way it's gotta be, though, so be it. At least we can appreciate what we had through lyrics and verses such as these.

Yeah.. I totally agree.. It was this song that made me look into Iron & Wine.. It's just so simple and beatuiful.. :)
