Love | Reviewer: Valerie | 10/23/09

but my hands remember hers, rolling 'round the shaded ferns....

the first time I heard this song I literally stopped what I was doing and listened. I had never heard it before and I am honestly in love with this song. It is beautiful and I cry every.single.time. I hear it.

Most beautiful song in the world | Reviewer: meghan | 10/13/09

I truly believe this song is the most beautiful song in the world. I cry almost every time i hear it. Seeing him sing live is amazing. Every word he sings is coming from someplace buried in his heart. The song overwhelms me. I feel so much

Another House fan. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/19/09

I understand how original fans of the artist could be upset... well, I'm hunting down the rest. Without this song, the last episode of that season would have sucked. It pulled it together with the touching lyrics and harmony... which totally sold the episode. Yeah, I cried. And again, and again just listening to the song. I didn't realize the song was enough by itself until later.

I can't attest for the twilight noise since I don't watch it. But I'm glad the song was on House since I watch that, and it awakened me to this artist. Beautiful music like this should be played far more often than just for a well written episode. Loved it.

it reminds me to not take my loved ones for granted | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/5/09

Like most everyone else, I heard it on House tonight. And it just makes me realize by itself, but also with the episode itself, how important it is to not take for granted your loved ones. I lost a beloved pet recently, and now I can't help but think how if I had my priorities straight she'd still be alive. I didn't make her enough of a priority and realize what it would mean to lose her. I wish now I had realized how a stupid argument I was having before she died would deplete my energy and take my attention away from her and what was important. I miss and love her so much

iron and wine | Reviewer: twist | 9/2/09

I heard it in house md, and im glad i did, because i didn't know of it before i heard it on house. that doesn't make me jump on the bandwagon, it just makes me appreciate some really good music, and this song remains one of my favourites to me, a person who many know as a hard core metalhead. and i have to thank the show that put this song in the first place for introducing me to this artist, and i will definitely listen to more iron and wine in the future. because's he's fantastic.

check out first album | Reviewer: rainer | 8/13/09

Like almost none of you, I first heard Iron and Wine when they came out with their(his) first album, which is still their best. The raw production is haunting and makes "Bird Stealing Bread" Sam Beam's best song yet. Passing Afternoon is on the 2nd album which is also very good and probably his most accessible album. You can't go wrong with any of his records.
Sometimes I wonder why he would allow House and Twilight to use his songs...of all programs/films? But in the end, you have to make a living and even if it isn't being completely true to yourself, at least it has proven that it changes other peoples' lives and makes society better as a whole.
BTW, Beam's songs are usually not autobiographical. This song is a man reflecting about a woman who probably used to be his lover. Kind of reminds me of Fitzgerald's Winter Dreams.

Sweet decay | Reviewer: Dan | 8/3/09

Unlike you all, I never even knew Iron & Wine was on the soundtrack of anything since I don't watch TV, but I'm happy to hear that others appreciate the art of such a talented and sincere songwriter. I have no real understanding of the lyrics, but, yeah, the music, the lyrics, can make a grown man cry - and that's a beautiful thing.

Gosh | Reviewer: Minnie | 5/13/09

iron and wine take away the pain. If you had a bad day, pop some iron and wine into your cd player, line on your bed and get lost in the music. it helps, always! I am having some bad times right now and iron and wine is my warm blankie!

Just Read it | Reviewer: Michael | 5/2/09

Well, to be honest the first time I heard this song wasn't in House. I have always loved Iron and Wine music, I first heard "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" as a sound track of "twilight" it was such a beautiful song that I immediately wanted to know who sang it that's how I discovered Iron and Wine and their incredible songs.
One of them as you all know is PASSING AFTERNOON and I think is clear that using this as a OST in House was extremely touching! BTW I also like House!
