The Reviews about Naked As We Came (page 1/ 3)
------ performed by Iron & Wine

man this song. | Reviewer: Grant | 11/6/09

i just had a go at it on guitar. i think i agree with everyone about the eternal love even through death meaning. but i also feel that both the man and the wife are praying that they'll die first, in the arms of the other half. the one to die second will have to scatter the ashes and eventually die alone.

its half happy with the 'smiling' lyrics showing that he finally knows that he's in an unbreakable relationship with a woman he loves, for the rest of his life

but its half sad for the fear of the reason i stated above. i know when i get married i'll cherish every moment.

i&w live | Reviewer: funkymonkey | 7/22/09

iron and wine are awesome live. if you think you'd have to be high to see them live and enjoy it then you have a warped vision of what good live music is or should be. sure it would also be good if you were high too but you don't ever have to be high to enjoy good live music.

One of my favorite bands ever. | Reviewer: Matt | 10/23/08

Sam Beam is such an amazing lyricist and the band DOES NOT SUCK live like the last poster. I have seen them many times and they are great. I have every album and I can say the music really has changed my life.

One of my favorite bands ever.

Good song, bad band. | Reviewer: d | 10/8/08

This song is very pretty. I was excited to see them in concert at Lollapalooza, but was very disappointed. The concert was awful and would only be exciting for someone who was high - as many were. I wish they wouldn't insult their fans. :/

Finaly getting it | Reviewer: Excusez | 2/25/08

Iv loved Iron and wine for a long time. but I truely took this song in when I fell in love whit my best friend. How can we wright songs about love when these songs are already written. this one, and Ben folds The lyckiest are my favorite love songs. I hope for all of you out there to find that someone. sometime its so much closer then you think.

simply beautiful | Reviewer: Frank | 12/28/07

I love this song so much...I saw them 9/29/07 in Washington DC and they played it as their last song. The entire audience sang softly along with Sam and as he played the last chord he said "good job!, Thank you!" everyone went insane and i just stood there, crying.

difference | Reviewer: chillin | 12/14/07

your boyfriend means that he loves you.. and he can see you spending your lives together.. children and when death might take him he wants to be spread around the yard so that he is still close to you because to him maybe death would be easier then losing you

dont you waste me | Reviewer: Kyle | 12/1/07

this song on the surface seems to be about death, about love, the end of life... but it is about life. it is about a never ending eternal love. it shows us how real love doesnt end, and it is not spoken of, but only felt. after she said "dont you waste me in the yard" he only smiles, because he knows it, and knows she knows it. the love wont die. spread out ashes, we will die together, naked as we came, with eyes open, ready for the next frontier. not necessarily the final, this illustrates infinite, eternal love.

starkly beautiful. | Reviewer: Ramona. | 10/21/07

This album is definitely Iron & Wine's masterpiece, and this is one of the crowning tracks. The sparse arrangement really complements the lyrics, and the simplicity is stunning.
