i'm not a native speaker so i don't really understand the meaning of the song but seriously the first time i heard it, i loved it. it's such a beautiful song. it just somehow connected with me, and it's that very vague picture there in my mind when every time i listen to it

can anybody help me understand this song?
and i'd pretty much like to know why they put the song there for the prom scene in twilight

I like many others heard this song for the first time in the movie twilight. The beat was perfect for the scene, I got the soundtrack and listend to it over and over. In parts of this song the band would mumble the lryics and i couldn't make out what they were saying so today I looked up the lryics- Big mistake,now every time i see twilight and hear this song i will just think about how weird the song is.

i hate how ppl always connect this song to the movie twilight, when they should be connecting twilight to the song. the movie doesnt make the song better, its the other way around. i have never seen the movie and havent read any of the books, this song is amazin on its own. when i first saw the trailer for twilight i was like "oh cmon another vampire movie, i just know its gonna bomb at the box office," the only reason it did good was because of the teenagers who were fans of the books. the plot doesnt really appeal to me so im not interested in watching the movie or reading any of the books. this song and band is amazing and i will continue to listen to them.

i fell in love with his voice and lyrics after watching 'twilight' but this song is by far my most favourite. it makes you want to fall in love funny enough..

ok i absolutely love this song. it is beautiful and in Twilight it is at the scene where they are at prom dancing in the cazebo(sp?) thing! i have seen the movie a million and 1 times (lol) it is amazing... Edward (Robert Pattinson) is super hott and Bella (kristen Stuart) did an amazing job as her. oh yeah Jacob is hott too. but im totally a Team Edward! woo hoo

this song is appropriate for this scene. here's edward who has been in a childlike state wanting but not being able to have then along comes bella his flightless bird, he instantly grows up and knows that one day he has to let her go to let her find her wings and fly away. everytime I hear this song I find different meanings, this is a beautiful song.

I absolutely love this song! Its so beautiful and I've had it on repeat for 2 days now. I didn't understand the lyrics until now that I've read them and pondered on their meaning, which in my opinion are the best sort. It makes me want to dance. And yes I have seen twilight but I think the song stands on its own without the movie, its just that the movie introduced me to Iron & Wine.

i bought the soundtrack before the movie came out cuz i wanted to watch it with my best friend [also cuz there were songs i liked]. i have to admit, it seemed weird to me the 1st time i heard it, but i liked it about the 3rd time i listened to it. the lyrics dont really make sense, but some of them actually do. it's just that its using so much metaphors. i listened to this about 5 times last night, crying, because i love this song now.

i too am a huge twilight fan and love that this song is in the movie, but there is more to iron and wine than just this song. go buy some albums, you'll love this song even more when you hear the rest of their stuff.

i first heard it in the movie and though the lyrics doesn't suit the scene, the melody does and that made me say to myself that i love the song.

but i really want to say that the song made itself famous/popular and not because of the movie. twilight just introduced it to the public but it will never going to be loved by many if the lyrics or melody is not good. there are so many songs played in the movie and are now included in the soundtrack but none of those have reached the same "popularity" of this iron & wine's (yet).

but for people who just love this song because of the movie, well, try to buy the soundtrack and listen to it a lot of times... :)

as much as I love the movie, and moreso thebooks, I love Iron and Wine as much the same.

ok this is such a cute song and even thought i dont understand the lyrics, i love it! in twilight it was the perfect song for the prom scene. i cried both times in saw the movie, probably because of this song....its amazing! LOVE ITTT

I hadn't even realized that this song was in the movie until afterwards, when I read in Iron&Wine's blog that it was. Now I wanna go back and watch the movie again<3

I loved Iron&Wine long before the movie, of course, but now I play this song over and over. Every time the chorus starts, it always catches me by surprise and makes me tear up. It just sounds so plaintive and beautiful.

i think this song is totally amazing. at first i didnt like it and the lyrics are like what the hell but i really like the chorus and it does make me feel like i would be at prom with the vampire love of my life ahaha.
