Wasted Time | Reviewer: ruby | 9/14/09

i think its a song of a once in a lifetime chance., A boy too afraid to cross the boundaries of more than friends and a girl who was waiting for him to cross it., and when the boy finally was able to ball up his courage., they already drifted apart. So he is wondering of the what-could-have-been and if the girl still feels the same or has already move on with someone else.

to me it sound like a friend that never told the girl that he had feelings for her, and now that he sees her with someone else he thinks back to what he never told her, which is that he likes and cares for her.and he also thinks back to all the goos times they used to have.

Voice Mail | Reviewer: Kayla (14) | 7/8/09

I love this song. It's so sweet, one of the sweetest of his. The reason the title of this is voice mail is because it reminds me of what a boyfriend would send to his ex-girlfriend's voice mail. He broke up with her but saw her at some point and remembered that he loves her still and it was a terrible mistake. She's with someone that she seems to love and care for dearly and seems happy, as happy as ever, but he wants her. He doesn't want to break them up and yet he does, you know? He wants her to really assess both relationships and see if she's really happy, if what she has with him is real.
Again, it's sweet and I can't help but think up this story every time I listen to it. Sam Beam really makes you think up illustrations and big stories for songs that are unfortunately only 2 to 5 or 6 minutes long. I always just want it to never stop, but I never get my wish
