Indigo Girls Rock!!

Amy Ray and Emily Sailers do not cease to amaze me with their sweet voices, strong lyrics, and touching Musical talent. A folk, rock, and bluegrass mix on top of their own style, all together submit me to be one of the Indigo Girls' number 1 fans. Tons of songs have been created by my favorite duo and they are still keeping it real!

I started listening to the Indigo Girls in 1996 when I got a hold of an old tape recording a friend had in the car. Least Complicated (live) was playing and I was in Love with this group at first listen. I see me well through them. Then I bought some cds and played all songs over and over again. Their Music from the album "Swamp Ophelia" (released around 1994) spins me around, mesmerizes my mind, and embraces my soul. Their album
Retrospective (released around 2000) has the song "Kid Fears"
(powerful) and one of my favorites "Watershed." I return to the same verse (cited below) all the time, I get real, and say to myself this journey has been worth it: the pain, the pleasure
and this pure experience of feeling. I make a circle, and with this music, I remember to toast and say cheers to emotion and this soul...

"And there’s always retrospect
(when you're looking back)
to light a clearer path
every five years or so I look back on my life
and I have a good laugh
you start at the top
go full circle round
catch a breeze
take a spill
but ending up where I started again
makes me wanna stand still"

This poetry-song creates such atmosphere for me to laugh at and enJoy the circles of life!

In November 2003, a friend gifted me tickets for back to back
concert nights to see the Indigo Girls at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. They were releasing one of their newest albums "All That We Let In." I was thrilled, chilled, and I danced around watching, listening, singing with Amy and Emily playing guitars, banjos, maybe a mandolin...I met some wonderful people and found myself in love again.

Tonight I am going to see the Indigo Girls perform at the Portland Zoo. Their latest release, Rarities just came out and I'm buying a cd tonight at the show. Looking at their setlists (on their website: http://www.indigogirls.com/setlists.html) , I'm seeing that I'll get a suprise show tonight, and I will be dancing with other Indigo Girls' fans again to the earlier songs as well as brand new ones!

Check these girls out for some added soul-loving,
fine times...This site (sing365.com) has accurate lyrics to many if not all published songs written and performed by the Indigo Girls.
