any hurt you're feeling. any wrong done by some man to you. this song let's you get it out. it hits that exact spot of heartache where you feel so incredibly hurt, so painfully embarassed for letting them do that to you, but know that you still have that glint of hope sitting in your heart, waiting for them to turn around and apologize, saying they messed up and now realize you're all they need. it happens to everyone, that's how love works, i guess, so systematically. i think this is the most perfect heartache song ever written. with a close second for bonnie raite's "i can't make you love me." both artists, too, have that virtuosic way of conveying all the pain and desperation and blind hope just in their voices. phenomenal ladies.

I loved him. I still love him.
We were together off and on for a year.My first love. But he showed no emotion...I didnt want what he wanted. And he certainly didnt want what wanted. He fooled me.
And india took the words out of my heart. He made a fool of me. And he acts as if he doesnt care. But I know he does. "smell you in my dreams" I can testify.

This song is so powerful. I feel exactly what she is saying. It is like it is comming straight out of my mouth. My boyfriend of almost a year just had sex with his bestfriend and we were on a so called "break". at this point in time i was on vacation so I couldnt even do anything about it. I feel so hurt and it seems like he doesnt care. I feel dumb for caring. My heart has never ran so dry. Why does love have to hurt so bad, but feel so good?
