Incubus is brutal. | Reviewer: Stephen | 12/23/08

I agree with every one who says most music is garbage today. Just like this song I am fed up with the shit rap, reggaton, R&b and its likes throw out into the world so we all should just say fuck it and do our own things. Agree or disagree I stand where I stand. Not everything is about sex, drugs, money, or race.

yup | Reviewer: random67 | 11/30/08

i definitely agree with Kuni. To me this song describes how after all these years of trying to satisfy everyone and leave a good impression on the world, he's finally fed up and is just gonna do what his heart desires without a care

Agreed | Reviewer: Bryan | 10/28/08

james ur right. wats sup with crap. why cant music be these. almost evrything u hear its about drugs, sex, money. its stupid. fuk especially regeaton. anyways i love this song alot. its just awesome :D. incubus one of my fav bands.

Why? | Reviewer: James | 10/16/08

Why can't music be this good anymore? A lot of music on tv and on the radio now is fuckin garbage. I'm not one of those old senile people living in the past, I'm 18, but everybody is getting tired of it and we have lost our reputation for putting out some of the best music in the world. EVERY single song you hear now is the same fucking song "cars, money, sex" just not in that order. How uncreative can they be and how unintelligent do they think we are? We need to go back to good shit like this.

omg | Reviewer: cody mackey | 10/9/08

this song is one of the greatest i have ever heard. i mean...i cant even explain it. it hits bein fed up w/ all the fake ppl and just lettin it all out. its like being sick of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. i seriously thought i was the only one until i read this. i love inbubus. i have every song of theirs. this band and emery are the greatest on the points of real life feelings and describing how unreal ppl can be. i love it. it makes me feel like im not the only one losin my sanity over this stuff!:D

Pardon me | Reviewer: Wara | 10/5/08

I think this song talk us about the life, about how he can't still living in the world because of his hypocracy. I heard this song many times but i've never realized what it means. but now i can understand what it means. Incubus gives us lyrics that make us to think, not only hear the song and repeat all he says but do we understand. (p.d. I'm just learning english, so if i have some mistakes you could correct them, please. i will thankfull for it)Realmente Incubus es una banda que merece nuestro agrado. :D

Great Song! | Reviewer: Marcio Vasconcelos | 8/10/08

I just want to express my feelings about this band, but specially to say how I see the lyrics of this song. Firstly, I'm Brazilan, and I'm still learning english, but I can clearly understand what it means. For me, it is about rage and anger, but not in a bad way... Rage and Anger for what had happenned all along these years, so when he says:"Pardon me when I burn, and rise above the flames" for me it is his way for not making part of this "hypocrisy".
That's it... Hugs to Everybody!!!

Well... | Reviewer: Mrs P | 7/8/08

To me thi song is many things. Inspirational, capitivating but most of all enjoyable. It can mean many things to many people but in my opinion, it is merely the writiers way of saying that the world has driven him insane with its falsity and he feels he is going to explode!

The fact of the matter is... whatever you take out of the song is what it is. Song's mean different things to each of us. Spontaneous combustion, or the acception/expression of yourself. It's like looking at a painting... the creator had certain feelings about it and others have different. Although I agree with KUNI. And no matter what the case, these lyrics are amazing. And Incubus is a great band.

good song, great imagery | Reviewer: Kuni | 3/1/08

I think Pardon Me is aboutbeing able to accept yourself, and finally expressing yourself, not allowing society to confine you anymore into a pre-shaped box.

It's not about raging against the world, but being frustrated to the point that you're fed up, and will not play along anymore.

the author asking the world to pardon him sounds sarcastic to me, and illustrates how he shouldn't care what the world thinks because the world largely doesn't care happends to him anyway.

....
also, it's spelled "hypocrisy"

yeah | Reviewer: dylan s | 2/19/08

Im just going to say, i agree with big daddy. but again, you don't really know enough about the band to come on this site and post like you know exactly what you're talking about, especially if you've only heard it one time. But Jaylo, you're an idiot. Also, the word is spelled "hipocracy". That was getting on my nerves.

??? | Reviewer: big daddy | 2/4/08

this song is nice. i liked it. i like how it sounds.. its a song about spontaneous combustion, symbolizing frustration with the world, as it truly is, not as the author thought it was before being 23.. that being said, jaylo, i think you are an idiot. your review was more like the equivalent of taking the song and shoving it in your as$.. you took lines from the song and acted like you were expressing yourself. what an idiot. you sound like a gay emo that smoked too much pot while listening to the song.

--fill me in----- | Reviewer: Xu den Jaylo | 1/10/08

The song is just so fucking pertaining to my inner self. At twenty three, I never expected that life would be like this. I was on the verge of exploring myself down below and was confused with this mind cracking stupidity my family has brought me into. I was thinking that this is just a never ending hipocrisy that I have to deal with. I want the world to understand that not everyone could make it to the top and not everyone could be successful in just a flick of a finger. The anger that is burning inside of me is making me cringe like a fetus struggling to burst out, starting to explode like a cannonball in the vastness of this human world. I want people to understand my unpredictability. I want people to pardon me when sometimes I suddenly burst out with rage. I am just a typical different person who is tired of the senselessness of this world I am living in. There are things that triggers my emotion to rise up in flames because of the perilous confusing reality this dimentional world offers. It is making me think away from the reality. I am hopeful that I can still do something about it before it is too late. I know I will never be the same someday.

INCUBUS ROCK!!!!

Amazing. | Reviewer: Sam | 1/6/08

I am always so captivated by Incubus' music- and Pardon Me definitely does not disappoint. It is an amazing song with such heartfelt lyrics. Takes my breath away.

Incubus is just plain amazing | Reviewer: Erin | 12/9/07

This song can of a multitude of reasons to different people. To me, it is talking about the frustration with people today, and how they are sitting on their asses and not doing anything to stop all of the awful things going on today. The one line, 'So pardon me while I burn
and rise above the flame' reminds me of phoenixs. They grow old, weak, and can't do anyhting, but then they burst into flames and become a new bird from the ashes. Maybe I don't understand the full point of the song, but I am only twelve. Incubus is awesome and no one can deny that this is an amazing song.
