Every song is truly unique.. loooooovvveeee the guitarist as always.. :) oil and water and then diamonds and coal as if they are into mines!! COOL! INCUBUS ROCKS! But I love DIAMONDS AND COAL better ! BOTH OF THEM ARE REALLY GOOD!

i dont see this song like everyone else does.
have you ever seen oil and water? its beautiful.
despite the fact that it doesnt mix at all, its amazing together.

this song is beautiful just amazing in every way possible, the lyrics are so strong and meaningful and can really open your eyes. This song however opened my eyes in a different way from the previous reviews, it shows me how lucky i am to find someone that mixes perfectly with me and always will. For me there is no oil and water. I adore this song because it reminds me to appreciate what I have and need.

I think i was the only guy that has a history for this song. I put the song to my girl and she just can't take it. I don't know what to do but I perfectly know that we're like oil and water. It's sad becuse she is what every man want to love but i've trying and she isn't my type. I'll let her go today. :(
About Incubus, it's my favorite band and it's incredible how Brandon can put a couple trouble in a song and with a great music.

This song is somewhat like the English counterpart of "Tubig at Langis", a Filipino song written in the 1960s I think. The song states how oil and water cannot be mixed no matter how hard they try.

I normally just read reviews about songs rather than write them. This song however, caught my attention(so much so that I bought the entire album today). Anyway, just reading the lyrics, I realized how much it pertains to my relationship. We dated almost four years, with a few break-ups throughout. The mention of a volcano is ironic in that our relationship was just like that. Small eruptions for the last year and a half, and then four days ago it erupted. Though I initiated it, I realized how much her and I were like Oil and Water, so to speak. Thank you to Incubus for reading my mind and putting into words what I am feeling.
