The Reviews about The Moment I Said It (page 7/ 7)
------ performed by Imogen Heap

Infidelity: | Reviewer: Kimm | 7/25/07

For some reason, I don't get the impression that the song is about infidelity. If accusations were thrown about him cheating, she would have anticipated the results, the consequences. Instead, it's something of a completely different nature. It's something she's done, something that she hadn't intended. With all intents and purposes, affairs are intentional whether or not they are in the heat of the moment. Amazing song, though.

Love it! | Reviewer: em | 7/9/07

It is "I've got a bad feeling"...
I personally think having witnessed something like this that the singer has suspected for a while that something isnt right with her relationship. She is walking on eggshells because now, if she is the accusor, she might start something she doesn't intend. "The moment I said it" could be seen as when she accuses him of cheating. Now the anger is turned on her. Lead (cold, dark, unfeeling) bulldozed the life out of her. When she got no feeling in response it killed her ecause she knew it was true. The parts of knowing what he's thinking and his having somewhere to be shows that he is on his way out the door. Desparation has hit and she rationalizes for him by offering that things happen and we'll work it out, just sleep-anything to keep him there. It ecalates as she won't let him go and he's no longer giving her a choice. The fight hightens to breaking dishes, etc. These could be her hopes shattering-please not another one.
She is seeing an irrational decision on his part to throw it all away with no hesitation and even warns him that she has a bad feeling about it. Then he's gone and we hear her saying bye to no one. Just a thought

i agree! | Reviewer: kayla | 5/17/07

I definetely agree with "winterrose" about the argument and car crash. She even says "smash" near the end of the song. Me and friends figured it out.

one of my favorites | Reviewer: jackie | 5/1/07

wow, i really like the above interpretation and you're right, you can hear the noises in the background- and even though it may be a sad song, it's so entirely beautiful- one of my favorites!

my comments | Reviewer: winterrose | 4/29/07

she said something... he got mad. they got in an argument. she tells him to calm down... that he should sleep, and things will look better in the morning, if not later on in life... he's become irrational with anger. then he leaves, claiming he has somewhere to be... and gets in a car crash.

that's my take on the lyrics and on the song itself... you can even hear the sounds in the background that sound like bystanders or even paramedics.

The Moment I Said It | Reviewer: Anya | 4/26/07

I have no idea what to think of these lyrics - it sounds almost like he's been hurting people, although I don't think it's her, and something's happened and she's trying to convince him to sleep on it so he can make a better decision. LOVE this song. It's haunting.

Oh, and I listened to it and I'm pretty sure it is 'I've got a bad feeling'. :]
