I was speechless, talk about use your ART (I dont consider alot of hip hop to be art these days but this song truelly is) to tell a harsh/true to life story and make a huge point/impact!.........the use of the classical music to soften the undertone and make the message hit even harder!.........genius. Im currently obtaining a 7 album collection of Technique, cant wait to hear more. Ohh, and to all who think that he actually was involved........hmmmmm, I dont think there is a person dumb enough in the world to publically admit brutally raping and killing someone........all the police would have to do is look up an un-solved case where a woman was beaten, raped and killed in this way, in the same area...........case solved. Currently im attending a university in upstate ny where 90% of the students are caucasian kids from the suburbs of suburbs that listen to heavy metal or janis joplin- which is fine, ofcourse. However, being from the city, their ignorance-at times, is VERY annoying. We have an english project where we must all review a song and explain its depth and content. EVERYONE in my class brought in some alternative, weird shit and all somehow mentioned how crappy rap music is, which a lot of it these days is trash. I do agree with their statements, however i felt i had to make a statement about hip hop, even though i am not a huge rap fan myself. It says a lot that the most meaningful and interesting rap song i could think of was "dance with the devil". my critiques on critiques: ummm as i can see vanessa is public enemy number one...and perhaps she might be one of the dickheads in my english class :/ i leave no comments about her. As for eddie...this COULD be a true story- hypothetically if it were, he could still rap about it if he wanted to. A lot of ppl from the hood rape, kill, and never get caught...and even if he did it, the cops could not arrest him because of a rap song, because as we see- it may be fictional.
