I love all the old N.W.A crew. But this diss puts cube way above the posse in terms of creativity. Plus the fact that he was the only one who realised he was getting screwed over by E and Heller shows he is a cut above the rest. And anyone who says hes gone soft put yourself in his shoes. if you are offered a part in a hollywood movie what would you say?......Exactly.

Ice Cube was the greatest of his generation, the heyday of
rap. It's hard to believe how great some of those lines are
when you compare it with the tripe that's out there.
I was turned on to his music from "Burn Hollywood Burn" by
Public Enemy way back when.
nasty | Reviewer: zach | 12/14/08
The more i listen to this song and look at the lyrics i realize how nasty it is. Like every line is either creative and brutal, most both. Its funny how some of the best diss songs ever (this, hit em up, ether) are directed at some of the greatest rappers/groups of all time, and today even with a rap game full of bustas and posers no one can touch a song like this.
Love it. | Reviewer: D-K | 11/11/08
I'm a huge fan of Ice Cube. He is, without a doubt, the greatest rapper of all time, and I'm sure the NWA had to change their pull-ups once this bomb dropped.
It's really an excellent example of the unapologetic vehemence that exemplified 90s hip-hop, and it's something that's cold on the artists of the modern day.
I mean, Soulja Boy? How does he exist in an industry built by rappers like Tupac and Cube?
Fuckin' wrong.
fuck haters | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/15/08

And all fuckin haters like brad eat shit and die bet ya hatin asses dont know shit about hip hop and just try to sound mature on the internets. Greatest Diss Song Ever | Reviewer: john | 1/25/08
This song came out in the late 80s or early 90s in response to NWA (and Easy E's) diss when Cube left the group. Note that Cube initially took the high road by making almost no reference to NWA in his breakout album (Amerikkka's most wanted). No vaseline came out in the second album. In response to the naysayers that point to the fact that Cube is now a poster child for Disney. So what? He is a grown ass man now. All that anger was 20 years ago.

for you people out here who thinks ice cube is now a pussy for coming out with movie out on Disney. To be honest that was really a dumb statement.Ice-cube has grown up that nigga is damn near 40 something. i would have hope by the time he reach 40 he is not still talking about stupid stuff. like being beefed out or about how he is going to kill someone. when you get a certain age its time out for all that. and my comment goes out to "yeah"
Y'All are FUCKING idiots | Reviewer: Sylabolic23 | 8/24/07
Y'all are fucking stupid. The song was made in the 90's, why should what Ice Cube is doing in the 2000's change your views on this song?
Y'all sound like posers to me. Do ya history on this song. Cube had just been fucked over by Easy, and at this point was the only one with enough balls to go solo. Shit even Dre was still riding Easy's dick for fuck all money.
Cube got fucked over, and instead of sitting back and looking like a fucking fool, he addressed the situation, and took the issue public. Shit this still rates as one of the more potent diss songs out there. And it did come BEFORE Hit em up... any thoughts?

What | Reviewer: John G. | 4/16/07
Larry! Thank you for ther sermen. Ice Cube and those like him have done more harm to their own people than any other group. Glorifying drive bys, drugs, criminal activity and so on. How many young black males have thrown away their lives buying into this crap. What happened to the black culture that produced Coltrane, Art Tatum, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Otis Redding, Barry White, Isaac Hayes and so many more. They are only hurting their own and eventually they will blame whites for rap music after they figure out the negative view of African Americans throughout the world because of this kind of music. I like some rap - early Snoop, Dr. Dre, Tupac and a couple others but the negative effect this music is having on the black community will take a long time to repair.
