Much Ado About Guster | Reviewer: Jesse | 9/1/2004
I just thought I'd get the site up to date. Since *Goldfly*, Guster has released two studio albums and one live album/DVD. *Lost and Gone Forever* goes a long way toward capturing Guster's live presence (A feat which can never really be accomplished. There is no experience like a Guster concert. Brian "Thundergod" Rosenworcel's flailing arms somehow beating out a precise rhythem, the way Adam Gardner seems to connect with everyone in the crowd, Ryan Miller's witty commentary, the jams, the energy, the ENERGY, their recent addition Joe Pisapia's musical aptitude and versatility...Nothing on this world matches the experience) and delivers several knock-out hits and more of the intricate vocal melodies and idiosincratic song-writing that makes Guster stand so far alone. In their newest studio album *Keep It Together* the pluck basses, pound pianos, and pick up drum sticks on more than a few songs. There's that characteristic Guster sound reminiscent of "Airport Song" and "Mona Lisa" but with added instrumentation that allows the band to expand their musical horizons. Also, Guster's ranks are swelled by a new member, Joe Pisapia (guitar, bass, keyboards, lap steel, harmonica, vocals). Joe adds so much to the mix. Guster is simply incredible. They know how to expand and change and add with out weighing down a song, and they know when to keep it simple. What more can you ask from a band? Guster is great.

An Ethereal Experience | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/25/2004
Guster is absent from this world. They know how to write music, truly how to mix and blend sounds to make songs that you have sung before but had never heard. The music they make blends folk and indie instruments to create an actual full sound that is not characteristic to their genre. you end up with more than you would have expected and they grow on you with each passing note.
