Anyone who doesn't like the band obviously has not heard this song. It's a song that moves you and if you listen carefully, most people can relate to in some way. The song´s progressive elements - the longer intrumental part in the middle and the fact that they use several different melodies in it - is a clear evidence of that. I can really understand why Rose chooses to give Slash an extra shout out thanks to the fantastic solo guitar in Estranged. Take for instance the hypnotic whale sound in the second half. Slash really shows here that he has got more than traditional solos in his spirit, not that I haven't heared examples of that before. Rose´s singing is also breath taking. I like the contrast between the first and the second half: the fragile voice in the beginning and then he almost explodes, singing " When I find out all the reasons...." and so on. What more can I say? It is definitely a song worthy of being a part of the trilogy - Don't Cry, November Rain and Estranged. It's another example of a song that makes Guns 'n' Roses great.
