I don't think it's an apology, I think it's saying fuck you get over yourself, I'll do what I want and you're better off hearing what I have to say than having me explode. Axl's famous for his violent temper, in fact he lost a wife and a serious girlfriend over it. The is more of an explanation, and talking an outlet, which is the spirit of rock anyway: a relatively safe outlet for talent and violent emotions. I think it is his take on how other people see his actions, but at the same time a warning not to "idolize the ink" and make him "god" so to speak, maybe because also alot of their songs encourages people (who cant think for themselves) to act as they do (which is general misconception in music, but not surprising with the amount of ignorants walking around), Like saying "One in a million" was racist.. its just the perspective and at the same time he directs the lyrics to himself in the 3'rd verse, which no one seems to have heard ?! - But he speaks and see's the truth...
