Not only is this one of my favorite songs, but who cares about how Green Day is spelled or what songs you like from Green Day? They're awesome, that's all there is to it. You don't need to know about 39/Smooth and Insomniac, and you don't need to know all of Green Day's old stuff to like them... you just need to like their sound, that's all that matters.

Now, back to the subject. This song is so awesome! I can't even stop listening to it!

no one cares if there's a space in between the band's name. no one cares if people liked them before american idiot or not. people can be green day fans without knowing trivial facts and all the lyrics to every song since 1039/smoothed out slappy hours, that's virtually impossible. get over yourselves. green day will be happy and proud of the fact that people can hear one song and be hooked no matter what record it came from. that's what a single is bloody made for.

but for people who only know 'greenday' through american idiot, you can't possibly love the band without listening to more of their older stuff.
i hate people that reckon that because they know the words to american idiot, or wake me up when september ends, they are green day fans. for the love of god, go out and buy warning, it is possibly their best album to date.

green day have been my favourite band for over 10 years and i have every single one of their albums and know the words to all of their songs.

and also I dont get what all the fuss is about when bands "sell out". Isnt that a good thing? isnt that one of the reasons they would have started the band in the first place? to be successful and sell out? i understand if they get a new producer of something and start to sound like everyone else, but if its just that there are more fans of the band then it s good thing right? or am i missing something...?

this song is truly moving and powerful.Though i am an Indian,i am a great fan of Greenday.The song relates to inhuman politics not just in America but everywhere around the world.I became a Greenday fan only after American Idiot and this song with Bille Joe's incredible voice,great words and brilliantly played instruments almost hypnotizes you for a few seconds and makes you listen to it over and over again.Greenday truly rocks!!

I LOVE THIS SONG!!!Sicne the first time I ever heard it I couldn't stop listening to it!It's my favourite from all GD songs (although I'm a fan since 2-3 years only :) )it's gets stuck in your head forever...and so powerful..wow :D but isn't there a part of lyrics that's missing here???

This song is just incredible. If only they turned it into a single, or made a music video. It's just way to good of a song to be looked over like it is. But the music is just powerful, and it turns into an epic piece.

.. I have to say that it's not the Green Day that we knew and loved, and i was really fucked off when they released the American Idiot album, because all in all they did sell out. There's a lot of shit songs on this album which I haven't ever thought about any of the others, but there's also a lot of mint ones, this being one of them, it's very politcal and the power behind it is just immense. Definately worth listening to.

This is one of the greatest songs of all I've heard! It is deep, meaningful, and just fucking great! I wish this song would play on the intercom at school in the morning!

GreenDay is the best! I have no idea why people don't know what this song is cause its one of the best ones there is...It actually has deep meaning if you listen to the song and Billie Joe, Mike and Tre all kick butt at hammerin away at those instruments!

This song is by far one of the best that Green Day has made. The instruments are amazing and the lyrics are really good. This song just flows, and works. It's a shame that not many people listen to it.
