Jesus of surburbia | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/7/09
the beauty of Jesus of suburbia is the fact that it seems to sum up the feelings of rebellious teenagers. It calls upon us to understand the world and it's wrongs and stop being hypocritical like so many people before us. This is my favourite green day song and I can't help but to relate to it!!!

best two songs ever | Reviewer: lissa | 4/22/09
Honestly the two best songs i find to listen to when you are upset or deprest about something is Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and Jesus of Suburbia, because they really have a meaning to them if you listen to the songs enough times you might get lucky and just find them.
Dearly beloved are you listening?
I can't remember a word that you were saying
is really me because i don't listen all the time.

I just don't get tired of listening to this album. I'm a classical musician, so I really appreciate how well the whole thing hangs together--it's really like a whole symphony. They have such wonderful transitions in their 'rock operas'. I wonder if they drew any inspiration from The Beatles' 'Pop Symphony I & II'... very well thought out: I respect them for their hard work.

I love this song. It has touched my life in soo many ways. Green day is one of my favorite bands. I just adore it.
"And there's nothing wrong with me
This is how I'm supposed to be
In a land of make believe
That don't believe in me"
^^ That right there. Genius.

punk or not punk, it doesnt matter, music is about relating the words of the artist into your own life, and Jesus of Suburbia can do just that for most of us. its easily the anthem of many young people who have heard it and could become the Baba O'Reily (teenage wasteland, for those of you who dont know the real name to the song) of our generation. this song just strikes home for me, i listen to it almost once a day to remind me where i came from and, for someone whom is pretty much the leader of all the misfits and outcasts in his school and neighborhood, it applies to me personally
this song is amazing! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/26/08
im 13 and have loved greenday since i was 8. people say that when greenday came out with american idiot that they became sellouts. but i think they just grew up. their music is no longer about drugs and choking the chicken. it has deeper meaning now. there is a story behind each song on american idiot. billie joe put alot of emotion into this whole album and it shows. they may have lost the punk sound but they didnt lose their punk aditude! xoxo

Rock Operas- Risky, But Worth It! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/23/07
I think this song is amazing. Even if you don't think that "American Idiot" was Green Day's best work, you have to admit that putting so many rock operas on one CD- their "last chance" CD, if you will- was a risk that paid off enormously. I love this song so much, I think it captures much of what I wish I could say to the world today. It's absolutely poetic in it's own direct way.
Love it =)

I'm not that much of a fan of American Idiot, but this is definitely one of the best Green Day songs. It doesn't just apply to an individual, but a whole generation of them. "There's nothing wrong with me, this is how I'm supposed to be," are lyrics that I'm sure a lot of people can empathise with.

Jesus Of Suburbia, in a way, has become my anthem. My theme song per say.
Green Day have really exceeded their expectations from their fans with American Idiot. This song is a great example of that.
"No one really seems to care"
How true is that about the United States today? All Bush cares about is the war. There's so much more going on than that!
Kudos to Green Day for the whole American Idiot album, and all of their other breathtaking work.
xoxo
Almost as good as Bohemian Rhapsody | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/26/07
This song is almost as good as Bohemian Rhapsody probally better than even Stairway to Heaven This song alone is better than Elvis himself well he only wrote Old Shep which is the saddest and 1 of the slowest songs ever i feel sorry 4 anyone who hears it and i hate it Jesus of Suburbia is also very long at 9:08 its not the longest i've heard iv'e heard 35:42 before Suburbia is dwarfed by it it has 4 swear words not a record iv'e heard 54 swear words in a song before
An epic work | Reviewer: naynur610 | 7/11/07
Green Day have really gone above and beyond on this track. I'm mostly into classic rock, but this song reminds me of the old Zeppelin & Floyd opuses of yesterday. Yet it has the fresh, new feel of today. I especially appreciate how the music is happy & upbeat, while the lyrics are wholly depressing...a beautiful paradox. This is truly an epic work. Kudos to Green Day!!!
