This song is just so different from anything else thats out there, plus with the message that it sends about America is quite interesting as well. Republican or Democrat, i think everyone should appreciate the song and the album as a whole for its artistic creativity. In this particular song, Green Day doesnt exactly directly say anything, they use more symbolism and imply thier messages. "theres a flag wrapped around a score of men" referring to all the dead soldiers coming home from Iraq in flag-covered coffins, but you never hear those stories on the news (they are kinda bummers eh?) and also another one of my favorites, "and bleed, the company lost the war today" calling america greedy, corporate centered, favoring the wealthy and powerful, all in all calling this stage in American history a facism, which is a corporate run government, which is what the Nazis were (hence the Zeig Heil to the president gasman, a.k.a.
