The men behind the Gorillaz project is Damon Albarn, and Jamie Hewlett. Damon does all the music, and Jamie does the artwork. Both are British, and if you listen to some of Damon's other projects, ie Blur and The Good, The Bad, and The Queen, the accent is very prominent.
