You all are FUNNY!!! | Reviewer: Liv | 6/5/07
Why are you all fighting over the meaning of a song? I think it's hilarious that you take music that way...who says it has to have a deeper meaning?(By the way I heard it was about drug use...JJ...but seriously...you all like the song, so just let it lie)... just my opinion of course....I LOVE GORILLAZ!!

It really comes together better if you watch the video. The basics is that the giant tower 2d Murdoc and Russel are in represents the entrappings of stardom, and while Murdoc's hamming it up in there, 2d feels trapped. The repetition of "feel good" is 2d trying to convince himself that everything's okay, and the "windmill" chorus is him being a mite more realistic, and longing for the freedom that the windmill island Noodle is riding represents. De La Soul's rap is just De La Soul mocking 2d's entrapment in the tower, basically.

> the rap segment means nothing. But it's danceable.
Actually, watching the video, you'll see Plug One's face in a megasized TV watching over the Gorillaz, who've accepted the dying world (Jonestown - city famous for a cult that killed itself entirely; hence, Jonestown/You in the place), and are living for their excesses (Ladies, ponies at the track). The laughter is their laughing at 2D, who's trying to break free of this world (where there are people trying to 'ghost town/This Motown') to where Noodle is. Eventually, 2D gives up, chanting 'Feel Good', deigning instead to listen to Plug One's hook: 'steady/watch me navigate'.
song's a redo | Reviewer: bluwe | 5/9/07
This song is actually a remake of a song of the same name by Skye. Don't ask me how I know this... but look up "Feel Good Inc" on Google Video if you don't believe me. Just be prepared for a slower, girlier, non-rapping, original version.

ctually, the song is about today's dying society and the horrid condition of the world present time. The chorus (Windmill, windmill, for the land, etc.) is about staying simple and innocent even though everything around us is wrong. A windmill was used because, as Noodle puts it, it's 'reminiscent of a simpler time, post-struggle. A note of optimisim in a day that so desperately needs it."
I had the same point of view as him, in the music video when all the messed up people watched the happy windmill boy, they looked and wanted it because they pressed against the window in remorse.
