The Reviews about Misery (page 1/ 5)
------ performed by Good Charlotte

pointed. | Reviewer: Jasmine | 7/5/09

Being a Good Charlotte fan may make one slightly biased but this song is catchy and has a point.
Now our society is made up of different groups of people, before there was one large group just moving together. Poeopl get discriminated for reicidulous reasons, and every person has their own prejudices. People are so fake. And that's exactly the point 'Misery' portrays.

Why do so many people assume that happiness is a good emotion and sadness is a bad one? Quoting Doctor Who here (I'm kinda sad like that ^_^) 'Sad is happy for deep people'. I don't mean that happy people are shallow plastic people, they're definitely not, but some people just like feeling sad. And whenever you're sad, everyone else gets this notion that you need to be cheered up when you DON'T. And none of them decide you needed to be upset when you're happy! I enjoy misery. I find it to be a much stronger emotion than happiness, it makes me feel so alive. And there are MILLIONS of shallow, empty, plastic people, they're not really, it's just that there are so many identical sheep-people who just want fit in, and it isn't just happy people, it's sad people too, who end up stereotyping themselves as emo and stuff. It's wrong. Although there are people who like being happy and people who like being sad, there is no need to create stereotypes for them! You just end up with more sheep people! WHERE ARE ALL THE INDIVIDUALS GOING?!

I really love this song. people are bad, and false.
we believe in they, we´re putting own trust in they.
when they make we be afraid, and crumbling down, they only said "sorry", but I¿? how I fell it´s care to they¿?
I´m sad for my boyfriend, we always fight, and broken up, we are separate now, but I miss he, and another boy invite me to go out, but, what´s I´m supossed to do¿? I don´t love my ex-boyfriend, but I miss him.
they make feel hurts and they ignore that, they destroyed our lives. all the poeple that always are lieing!!! and they search for one excuse, and someone to believe that!!!
misery loves me ^^

Sadness/Misery/Anger/Bullying :( | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/2/08

This song gives me an expretion of not giving a dam what people say about me cuz most of the time im sad coz of family problems and at school. People should't feel down because people call them names like when im sad people call me emo and make fun of me saying dat i cut myself and stuff. And when i ask for advice from people bout things like when i was abused when i was a little eight year old that person whom i trusted told my whole family and now i am being called a slut so i have no one to stand by me im a thirteen year old girl who has to lie life with a hurtful past. What my point is, well, that this song lets you see that your not alone out there and that you don't have to put yourself down. You don't have to hide your emotions. If you want to cry then cry if you want to act psycho then go ahead if you feel angry you don't have to hide it coz when you do you only putting more pressure on yourself. So just do what you want and you'll be happy. Put a Smile on your face and show the world what your made of :)

This is a really nice song. If you actually listen to the words and the way they connect, the song does have a meaning. I think that the song is about not being afraid of who you are or how you feel. Most people when they feel sad or are hurt they hide it because other people criticize them for being that way. Most people just expect everyone to be happy all the time and when someone is sad they view it as them being a baby or as them being emo. People do feel sad and just because you are sad does not mean you're emo or a baby. Everyone feels the same as you at one point or another and just because they hide it from the world doesn't mean you should. When the song talks about 'Plastic people' they're talking about all the people who have changed themselves to be approved by the world. Thats why they're dying inside or have nothing inside. When the song talks about 'Shallow people' it's talking about all the people who menipulate people to get what they want. Thats why they tell lies. When the song says 'Happy people' it's talking about all the people who haven't changed themselves or told lies, people who just live life as it comes, thats why they're happy. It says 'Keep your sadness alive' because hiding it isn't going to make it go away, it's only going to make it come back twice as hard in the long run. Misery isn't always fun but hiding it isn't fun either. The best thing to do is keep it alive and try to fix it, just like the song says.

What they mean with: Don't feel bad, keep your sadness a live. Is that people should be able to feel what they feel, that they shouldn't have to feel extra bad/guilty about feeling sad.. And the happy people don't necessarily have to be the plastic people, they're just mentioning different types of people in that room and that no one there can truly judge you for what your feeling, because you are the only person who knows what's real and what's not.. That is what this song is about.. It's a protest against people being forced to live behind a mask.. That if you're not happy, cheery 24/7 you're an emo or at least you're looked down at.. This song says that people should be free to feel and express what they feel without people judging them..

Kinda... | Reviewer: ... | 2/22/08

I do love this song. The melody is great, it's so catchy! I do agree about the lyrics though.
'Plastic people' aren't dying inside, it's the others who are dying inside. Plastic people may not be individual or original, and they may not know what everyone else is feeling, but they are happy, which everyone should be. This song seems to imply that only shallow people can be happy, which is so not true.

Good rhythm, shitty lyrics. | Reviewer: -_- | 2/9/08

Kinda stupid lyrics. He says "Don't feel bad" and says to keep your misery alive. So if you didn't feel bad, you wouldn't be miserable because misery makes you feel bad. At least, true misery does.

Oh, and if you were truly "tired of runnin'
You're tired of hurting
You're tired of living in their lie
You're tired of listening
You're tired of hurting", then you'd reject your sadness and fight back against the people you're running from, who's lie you're living in.

Oh, and if the "plastic people" have nothing inside, why are they happy? If they're happy, they must have something inside.

In short, good rhythm, shitty lyrics.
