I recently re-discovered them, and I've come to love them the same way I love Alice In Chains--the lyrics actually speak to me. No other song by them suits me and what I'm going through better than this one. I suffer from major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder, and Running Blind is exactly the kind of song I would write if I were a little more creative. It lets me know that I'm not alone in my pain and my fear, and that I'm not the only one trying to survive in this world spending every day in agony and torture. Knowing that I'm not alone in this world and in how I feel is a relief. son's song | Reviewer: Tammy | 9/11/09 My 26 year old son passed away a month ago...he had this song on his Myspace account because it depicted very well what he was going through after 2 tours in Iraq and being involved in 2 IED incidents. He was trying hard to make it all the way back, but struggled with self medicating. He was a great soul and that's what will be remembered. The song is the quintessential example of a confused,helpless,desolate mind.It portrays how we all are dishonest inside.its like we can lie on the outside and masquerade our motives but when we stand in front of the mirror we know who we are.we cant lie to the image we see in front of us and the guilt kills us!
