The Reviews about He Stopped Loving Her Today (page 3/ 5)
------ performed by George Jones
can't handle it | Reviewer: LP | 2/21/08
My husband and I have had problems off and on for several years. We will be married 20 years this year but I'm afraid we are heading for a divorce. We've both took each other for granted and even though it will be the most painful thing to do I feel like it's best if we move on. He's the man in this song... I know that if I do end up leaving that he won't ever stop loving me and I love him enough to want to see him happy.. even though I'm not sure that I'm the one to do that anymore. I don't think I'll ever truely get over him either but there does come a time when you realize that staying together is only killing you both because I realize if we had met today that we would probably not make it past the 1st date we are both so different. It's like we keep going down the same road and making the same mistakes and nothing ever changes at least not for too long. If I didn't love him it would be so much easier to do what I know is the right thing to do. I don't want him to end up like this song but I'm afraid he will and how can I go on and make anyone else happy or be happy myself knowing I left him to end up like the song talks about?
Reminds Me of My Life | Reviewer: Branden | 2/15/08
Even though I'm at a young age of 21 this song reminds me of the life I have already made for myself. The girl of my dreams never gave me a chance and I still haven't met anyone like her. I don't beleive I'll be able to have a full realationship with anyone because she will always be in the back of my mind. I hope I don't wind up like the man George sings about even though right now it feels like I'm going to. If George was to ever read this I would want to tell him how amazing of a singer he is and thank him for all the guidance his music has given me. This is Truly the best country song ever recorded in history.

My Grandfather's last song | Reviewer: Scott | 11/29/07
Although I have heard this song dozens of times, it didn't hit me as hard as it did until yesterday at my Grandfather's funeral.
Grandma died back in 1966. In the 40 years I knew my Grandfather, I never once heard him talk about Grandma. Grandpa raised the remaining four children at home by himself after Grandma died. In fact, he also spent a lot of time with his Grandkids. Grandpa was a hardworking man, who worked until he was in his 80's. Cigarettes robbed him of breathing with easy, but he was not much to complain about it.
Grandpa had to move to an assisted living home three years ago. He didn't own a home, he gave away his old Ford Tempo, all his deer rifles and took a few humble belongings to his new home. On the wall rested his treasured deer antlers and pictures of his family, including a beautiful picture of Grandma.
Grandpa didn't want a fancy funeral. He chose to be cremated and wanted a short and simple funeral. Of the two songs that he selected, "He stopped loving her today" was the last song. There was not a dry eye in that funeral home yesterday, as we all learned that Grandpa and never stopped loving Grandma in the last 41 years. I can only hope that they are together in Heaven tonight. The world lost a GREAT man on November 25th, 2007.

So sad... | Reviewer: Martin | 11/6/07
this song must have been on one of my first country CD's and I loved it from the first time I heard it! Now I'm like in the song, cause the love of my life just left me... I just hope she comes back before it's too late, that I don't have to live all my life like this poor guy George Jones sings about!
Best wishes to everyone who reads this!
