IF U LOVE IT KNOW IT!!! | Reviewer: Artimus Pyle | 10/9/12
I have been a Genesis fan sincr 7th grade '79. Whoever thinks Peter had anything to do w/this song here is a eye opener. Tgats Phil and should be obvious because Phil is the "King Midas" of the '80's anything he touched was golden like this Tony Banks written song. Clapton,Plant,Sting and played at both Live Aid site via the Concord. He know has to duct tape drumsticks to his habds to play arthritis . That was all he ever wanted to be. Ronham,Peart,Copeland, and Collins thats the list that follows only 1 other man and I have witnessed all of them and Buddy Rich is where it starts. Modern Did not see Krupa Cozy or those guys.

Genesis "You might recall" | Reviewer: Paula | 3/27/12
It is such a good song I used it to send to my x-boyfriend to put all of my feelings and words into our , now passed, relationship. I think it was a great way to say I do not regret the time we had together. You can always send it to your old flame in the private message area of facebook! Ha ha. I love Genesis and this song is art indeed.
Overcome with emotion | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/28/12
I don't usually write reviews but this song deserves it. Every time I listen to it I'm overcome with deep emotion. I love music and play guitar in a band but certain songs reach out and grab you and make you feel something that's hard to put into words. The musicianship, vocals and lyrics come together to make this one of their top songs... I also love Taking it all too hard which doesn't get the credit it deserves. Glad to hear other people get this song like I do. Thanks Genesis! And Phil is a badass drummer and singer!
You might recall | Reviewer: Robert | 9/15/10
I have a remaster of 3 sides live on cd with this song, and many more rare songs on it. I remastered and ripped this song at high bit rate.. This song is amazing and should have been on abacab instead of who done it.. Not that who done it wasn't ok.. But I can't say it's among my favorite tracks at all.. I think you might recall could have helped the abacab album blossom more... It's a shame but thankful I have it on album!
Stands The Test Of Time | Reviewer: Jon Farmer | 9/10/09
Am I happy to find this website. Probably the most underrated Genesis song of all time, although Feeding The Fire comes a pretty good second. The thing about You Might Recall is that it has never sounded dated despite being written during the Abacab sessions in 1981. I remember seeing Genesis in 1982 and asking fans if they had played this in previous sets but they were going on about Suppers Ready this, Suppers Ready that (I like this more-keep that quiet though).
God must have written this song ! | Reviewer: Jeroen from the Netherlands | 5/17/09
Thank you Lord for making Genesis and writing them this song !
Every detail that makes a song perfect is in this one !! An undiscovered diamond. Let's keep it this way..
En voor de Nederlanders. Wat een waanzinnig nummer, toch ?

I was digging through my old cassettes (yeah, I keep all my old music)and came upon the Genesis 3 Sides Live cassettes. Had forgotten that this was one of my favorite songs. Really, a great song, great lyrics and I just enjoy it. However, when I decided to buy a CD with this song on it...in order to make it easy to convert to MP3...I was disappointed to find that it's not on the CD version of 3 Sides Live. And, now I can't find it on any other CDs because it turns out it wasn't a regular release. I guess I can either buy it as an MP3 or just buy a USB cassette player. But, the song is great and I am now vindicated in my decision to hoard all my old LPs, Cassettes, and CDs.
Brilliant song! | Reviewer: Marc | 1/4/09
I was in the 6th grade when I first heard it. I'm 37 now and it still stirs me. It's probably the most underrated Genesis song they ever recorded.
Genesis' music is haunting. It sticks with you. It makes sense, in some way or another. I think it stimulates the intellect, but that's just my opinion. Either way, Genesis' music has been a huge influence to me as both a drummer and a bassist.
But *just now* discovering the lyrics to "You Might Recall", I *finally* get every word Phil was singing. Those lyrics now have more meaning to me. I had only been stirred by the music previously, and the way Phil sang, but never really made an effort to pick out certain words. But now that I know exactly what he was singing, once again, as always, all I can say is wow! Definitely my favorite Genesis song.
pure perfection | Reviewer: jenn | 10/31/08
my brother bought the album Three Sides Live by Genesis, but I quickely eclipsed him as a huge Genesis fan and practically stole his album... One of my absolute favorite songs ever...I play it so loud I'm probably going to go deaf!
I was so disappointed to get the CD version of Three Sides Live only to find out they took all the tracks off that were recorded in favor of more live tracks!
But hooray - this song is available now on CD, it's on the Genesis Archive #2 1976-1992. I highly recommend this box set not only for this song but also for some fantastic live songs and other goodies.
so thrilled to see so many love this song as much as me, some of my friends roll their eyes because of how much I love Genesis.
I just recalled this song... | Reviewer: Doug | 10/11/08
In the middle of ripping my entire cassette collection to MP3 I came across this song. Man oh man I had completely forgotten it. As some of the previous posters had mentioned, it brought back some very deep High School emotions. Really remarkable lyricism, beautiful chord changes in the A section, Phil is very heartfelt, excellent groove. I had to sit down at the piano and riff on the changes a few times. I second the previous posters' longing for a live version of this one.
Inspiration | Reviewer: Bryan | 8/6/08
I'm 38 and I first bought Duke on cassette in the early 80's. In my early 20's, I was into Peter Gabriel and Genesis, as well as Phil Collins. Silly me. I had no idea they were in a band together until soon after that. I think Peter was much more artistic lyrically than Phil in my opinion, but Phil has a way of singing about many of the events and emotions that we all deal with in every day life. It's just cut and dry and to the point, and I think that makes it very powerful. Phil has been a huge inspiration to me in both my drumming and my song writing for years. I'd love to meet him and thank him for all of his creativity and the years of inspiration he's given me.
The reason I became an artist | Reviewer: Dorian Gray | 6/27/08
My artist name is Dorian Gray, I've just released my 1st solo album and also wrote for the female singer Duffy; I was discovered by ex-MTV host Ray Cokes on Facebook! The reason I became a drummer, pianist, singer and composer is Genesis and the most beautiful song ever, "You Might Recall" an Abacab leftover song......... I still cry when I listen to this song 26 years after it has been released, for some unspeakable harmonic reasons... Although my Genesis hero is Tony Banks, I think that Mike Rutherford wrote the basic lines of that particular song.
I'd be nothing and no one without Genesis music...You might recall...
