He is an AWESOME song writer. Many country artists have recorded his songs. He's such a nice guy, that I'm sure he didn't care the Garth STOLE the song. He's very humble. When he signed with a big record label and they wanted him to change to conform to their way of making music and record more marketable songs, he said, forget it. Walked away from it all for a few years, battled depression. Now he's back doing it his way again. I admire him for that. If you don't know his songs, I suggest you listen to him -- all of his stuff. His lawyers got worried and tried to work it out with Snider. Snider basically said I dont care I know I wrote the song that's all that matters. So all was fine then a year later Brook's lawyers tried to sue Snider for copyright infringment. Brooks version sucks anyway. He didn't write the Brooks/Jones version, but Brooks is very familiar with Todd's work, as he was going to cover another of Todd's songs, "Alright Guy," until his label disagreed with some of the lyrics. I've heard the original and if you ask me this is wayyyy better.
