" I can give you freedom from guilt..." He wants this girl more than anything but they can't work things out. This song is incredibly deep. It's deeper than a breakup.. It's a HELL of a lot deeper than a breakup. This is about people who love each other like they've never known love, but they can't seem to get it right. They're "mourning" their relationship failing. But they love each other no matter what.. It hurts them almost physically. I myself have never seen it as a break-up song, but rather a never-happened-in-the-first-place song. But I can see where someone might get the break-up meaning or the killed-her meaning out of it. I listened to this song so much before, while I was still trying to figure some things out. And I still do, it just has a different effect now. Now it's more to look back on what happened. It's a beautiful song, and I could never stop listening to it just because things in my life have changed.
