It's only really sexist in a modern view- this was when it was women cared for home and children, man brought home the bacon. Clearly we can tell we've changed gender roles quite a lot since then if you believe this song to be so.

Anyway, would a man or a woman want to come home to a grungy looking person every night? A little effort for your lover?

I think this song is totally sexist, while the wife is going to all this trouble what is the husband doing.
My husband plays it in his car all the time and if I'm driving I turn it right down so I can't hear it.
I like the tune though which is also annoying as it goes round and round in my head. Infuriating!
