Yeah, dave was indeed in Nirvana, and he also wrote the song Colour Pictures of a Marigold. Kurt heard dave playing it one night and liked it so nirvana covered it. later dave put it on his pocketwatch album. then played it on the skin and bones tour with the foo fighters.

The Foo Fighters didn't originally write this song. Maybe they covered it once, but it's originally played by Nirvana and the actual name of the song is just "Marigold".
Sure, Dave Grohl was in Nirvana but that in no way makes this his new band's song.
Also, the lyrics on this page are wrong anyway.
