Beautiful meaning, wonderful band! | Reviewer: IlovemyJesus | 2/18/13
She uses her music, all of it, for the sole purpose of glorifying God, and God bless her for it! Why do you think she preaches at pretty much every concert? Because she wants to share the amazing things God has done in her life, and that He can change your life if you will only surrender. "And only surrender can help you now." I especially love Beautiful Bride by Flyleaf and All Around Me. Her passion for Jesus is evident. I wish that every celebrity would use their gifts to bring the much deserved glory to God as she does.

Stop arguing, and lying. | Reviewer: Cece | 8/20/12
I just heard lacey live on SATURDAY, and she got saved at 16. Why does it matter what she sings about? She has talent, she has class and she is full of life and music. Maybe everyone else needs to stop playing the guilty party and just let her music sing to you, thats what it was made for.
their definitely christian | Reviewer: Ludicrous Arts | 6/8/12
on the same album as this song there's another song "beautiful bride." which is about Christians now i know this because in the song it says "beautiful bride, body of Christ" all Christians are the body of Christ because we're supposed to heal like a hand, walk like the feet, speak like the mouth and so on. now what does the bride have to do with Christ. well it means that Christians will have a bond with him so strong they will be as close and in tune as a husband and wife. beautiful probably means the power or spectacular thing God did to provide this.
Calm down guys | Reviewer: Star~ | 4/8/12
We should be more focussed on the song than whether or not it is religious or if Flyleaf is Christian or not. A lot of people are arguing about that instead saying how they feel about the song. I, for one, think this song is beautiful, no matter if it is about God or a lover. Please don't fight about it. Just say if you like the song or not okay? This arguing solves nothing :/

Doesnt being a christian band mean that u just have alot of groupies ,alot of followers, not that ur actually a christian? i mean msi is a christian band dude lol oh and on the flood gates are breaking part, its "im pouring out" not "their"..wanted to correct it but i cant on my ipod..
as for the original topic,it doesnt matter to me if they are or they are not a christian band.
what kylaniann said about shoving beliefs down peoples throats is true.its counter productive.in my case i was anti GOD for most of my life.i had many people try to force it on me,including my parents.which is what turned me against it in the first place.
you shouldnt let fear and peer pressure dictate your beliefs, because if it is forced its not genuine.i cant count how many times i was told i was basically going to hell, because of assumtions based on the way i chose to look.i was called a common prostitute IN A PRAYER by a worker at life choices(a non profit prolife clinic)because i was pregnant out of wedlock.
so needless to say i wasnt fond of the christian thing....but now i have come to accept it on my own.it just something that has to come to you in your own time...although occasionally when i visit a new church,i still get THAT look..but now i just shrug it off

The band isn't religious hehe.... I am Christian myself and I have noticed many religious people standing out and trying to prove that it is religious. I'm sorry to say that they aren't. I can see this is starting to become a mini-battle versus Religious or Not. Well, the bans has stated in various interviews that they are Christian, and have follow Christian beliefs, but there band wasn't created for that purpose. Their beliefs are the base and influence of their songs, but not the sole purpose of the band. Mainly the lyrics can be interpreted into religious ways, but each and every single person is different, therefore many people could interpret it to be merely cruel love. I hope you took the time to read this, and I especially hope all of you (mostly those who believe this is a Christian band) to maybe stop being stubborn and narrow-minded to see that others possibilities could be as utterly right as your own.

they are just a rock band. Lacy said in a interveiw that, yes, they are chritians. but, no they are not a christian band. in every description i have read, they said that their beleifs INFLUENCE their music but they are not strictly a christian band. by the way, who cares if their christian or not? its a cool band with good music and i suggest we all just shut up and listen to the music.
wow you ppl are stupid | Reviewer: KylaniAnn
ok i am a Christian and Flyleaf is a Christian band. you ppl who say they aren't are wrong. Lacey wasn't a Christian before she started the band but she is now.
when she says "Here you are down on your knees again, trying to find air to breathe again, right where I want you to be again, I love you please see and believe again!" what she is saying is that when you mess up in your life and realize that you need God, you will come to your knees searching for Him and He will help you start over again. the chous is what God is saying. when you fall to your knees and ask for His forgivness, He is so happy that you realized that you needed Him!
God loves you and what this song is saying is that you need God and nothing else will fill thr void inside of you.
the bridge goes "They don't have to understand you, be still.
wait and know I understand you, be still.....BE STILL!"
what that is saying is that ppl may not always understand you but God knows who you are. He is asking for you to listen and know that he knows your heart. be calm and love God.
for all you idiots who try to shove salvation down non-believers' throats: SHUT UP!!!!! if they listen or ask you more questions then go ahead and tell them whatever you want about God, but if they only push away, DON'T TRY TO SHOVE IT IN THEIR FACES!!!!!!!!

"I love the way that your heart breaks with every injustice and deadly fate Praying it all be new and living like it all depends on you"
Religious: God is happy to see that his sons and daughters realize the injustice, and that they live to serve him. Not that he's happy they have to suffer.
Romantic: speaking to a cheater who lies about his or her doings. pray you have the strength to overcome his untruths and you can only depend on yourself.
" Here you are down on your knees again trying to find air to breathe again And only surrender will help you now I love you please see and believe again"
Religious: strength to survive the world. Surrender to god and believe everything will be ok.
Romantic: broken down crying. Trying to get said cheater back.
"I love that you’re never satisfied with face value wisdom and happy lies you take what they say and go back and cry you’re so close to me that you nearly died"
Religious: god is happy that you won't take what other people say to heart, you'd rather keep close to him and die him than die for something untrue.
Romantic: more likely talking to herself than lover. Unsatisfied with his lies but feel so strongly that she feels like she can die
"they don’t have to understand you be strong wait and know I understand you be strong be strong"
Religious: I think it's still instead of strong, so still meaning calm. God understand but people do not. So keep your inner peace because he is there.
Romantic: attempting to reason with lover and say that no one knows him like she does, so stay with her.
"Here you are down on your knees again trying to find air to breathe again Only surrender will help you now The floodgates are breaking they're pouring out"
Religious: reference to biblical story.
"Here you are down on your knees trying to find air to breathe right where I want you to be again i love you please see and believe again"
Religious: she is coming back to god, he is telling her to believe again even through the hardship.
Romantic: he has home back, she is trying to convince him to stay.

Umm... You really need to shut up because people have different ways of how they feel of the song. And I think your being disrespectful of the religous people. I don't care if you don't believe. OTHERS DO!!!! So watch what you say. Ugh... You people really erk my nerves..... *_*
Religious or not | Reviewer: Kayla
Honestly, whether they MEANT this song to be viewed completely religiously is no matter. The band has stated many times that they are not a Christian band, but they do have their faith, and that many times, their religion will often times come through their music. Personally, I am a Christian, so I see the religousness in much of Flyleaf's music, but to insist to non-believers that IS in fact religous is, honestly, ignorant. I believe it can be interpreted in many ways.

I don't think "down on your knees" is meant in a sadistic way. It's not down on your knees broken and defeated. It's down on your knees in humility, asking for help. And, I take "trying to find air" not literally, but as to mean looking for relief from your frustrations. That's how I see it.
