He couldn't live to a 100 without her. My mother was telling me about this song, not knowing I already knew it and she also said that this reminds her of her father. It's okay that Grandpa didn't live to be 100 but lived to be 87...life wasn't worth 13 years without his beloved wife of 63 years. I smile when I hear this song and am going to buy the single if I can find it online. I want to make a dvd for my family with pictures of my grandparents then my mother and her siblings along with the 6 grandchildren and the 7 great grandchildren. It makes me realize every time I look at my kids how fast they are growing up and how precious little time I have to spend with them before they are adults. I didn't have any music for it, however, and my lesson teacher taught it to me by memory. I'm relearning it the correct way and the little differences mean a lot. The music changes the lyrics in an expressive way and relearning this song the correct way makes me smile every time I hear the song, knowing that I won't live my life without good times and lots of memories to go with them.
