I agree with the below interpretation but I also think that while pete usually has very diverse and deep lyrics and they are all taken a different way- i personally think that he was speaking about the general statis of the USA and how our world seems to be going to hell, the morals with it, and we are cowards and trying to all blame our issues on something elde instead of taking our future in our own hands

This is a great song, but I have to argue with the perceived meaning, disclosed by those who posted below. I don't think any Fall Out Boy song is just about one thing. And certainly never anything that stereotypical. I can see where you gather those things, but I think the overall theme of the song is Pete remembering a few random things from his past that made him really angry or been big problems and finally realizing that there's no use getting angry at the world for his problems. They're on his back and more his fault that he wants to admit, but now he's admitting it. He's saying: I'm not always right. Life is just hard and alot of it's my fault. Now I want to fix it.

I know nobody cares what I say about this, but I'm TA for an English class right now and have nothing to do, So I decided I'd share my feelings on FOB songs :) lol. The end.

i think this is like the best song i've ever heard from fall out boy. well besides dance, dance and sugar we're going down and other songs. i guess this is the one that caught me with the lyrics and how patrick sung it.

possibly my favourite song off the new album. i think it's about trying to save a relationship and get back what you had with somebody, saying how one day you'll get away together and make it right. but whatever it means, it's a great song =)
