Not an Evanescence song but Evanescence owned it! | Reviewer: Aaron | 7/27/07
I have heard both the Evanescence version and the Soul Embraced versions of this song, and I must say that I liked the Evanescence version of it better. The lyrics are too mellow and deep to be grunted out and almost completely drowned out by heavy guitar and bass. I think the lyrics got much better treatment by Evanescence than by Soul Embraced. In the original version by SE you could hardly understand the lyrics, and these lyrics certainly deserve to be heard.
Christian Death Metal | Reviewer: Fouad | 7/16/07
Tourniquet is not an Evanescence song. It was originally composed and released by a Christian Death Metal band. Their drummer took the song and gave it to Evanescence to claim as their own since he is the founder and drummer of Evanescence. The song is obvious, seeking redemption from god after a life of sin.

Wow. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/23/07
Evanescene's lyrics are deep. Amy Lee is a great writer. You can't just listen to the music, you have to listen to the words. They're emotional and eloquent. Beautiful song.
By The Way: A Tourniquet, for those of you who don't know, is a device to stop bleeding by compression. (It's also a device for pulling the parts of a wooden piece of furniture together.)

This song is amazing. It would make you cry, except that the rythme and the music prevents it from having that depressing factor. I LOVE YOU AMY LEE!!! YOU RULE!!!

This song. ternequet | Reviewer: Beth | 6/5/07
I think this song clearly speaks of suicide and a desperation for something much higher, God in this case. But from what I've read on the other comments that's not the case. Although, that's really what it sounds like. Emo song. Emo.
Hey | Reviewer: Christine | 6/4/07
I love this song, like all Amy Lee's music. When i first started listening to it, i was suprized at how well it connects to my life.
This song is amaizing, and to me it tells a story of how a woman is in a deep depression, and belives she is all alone in this cold world, and so she looks to God. But then she wonders to herself if she has done too many things wrong in her life for God to consider saving her. And the "Am i too lost to be saved" part says she is wondering if she has done too many bad things for too long to be saved.
