Simply gorgeous. | Reviewer: Nemo | 7/29/12
It's not only a song about an abusive relationship, but can also be interpreted as a song about a girl that falls in love with another, but suddenly the relationship is cut off and whoever she's dating says they never loved her anyway. I recently just got absolutely broken by my girlfriend, and she was the one, the one who I knew I would spend the rest of my days with. But yesterday, she told me she never really "felt" all too much for me. Utterly heartbreaking. Yet I still love her, unlike how Amy Lee describes her experience..
I love this song! | Reviewer: AmyLee'sDisiple | 5/27/12
I can really relate to this. You really don't need to be a grown up to know what true pain is. When your heart has been shattered to a billion peices and you know it will never change, it's nice to know others could break free. Although, to break free... almost a dream. Live on Amy Lee!

When i heard this song it made me cry. It reminded me of my ex fiance that used me and through me away like a peice of trash, and began to call me all these horrible things. I had invited him to my dance recital and i danced to this song and couldnt finish it because i was crying

When I first heard this song it reminded me of my father. I do not speak to him anymore. He never wanted me. He held a loaded gun to my head when I was 5 the line "but you held me down and screamed you wanted me to die." he denies ever doing so. Then Amy lee says "hunny you know, you know I'd never hurt you that way, you're just so pretty in your pain."
fabulous! | Reviewer: NaZanin | 8/27/10

i'm just now a teen and have abused so manny ways and so many times anyone that walks into my life i expect the to force every drop of blood from me then leave me then you get to the point where it hurts so bad you can't have anger you're numb you believe than you're left again it's easy to relate and cry and scream when ever i hear this song because i know this will never end and i'm so glad some people get the chance to find thier way out
pointing it out... | Reviewer: SinShine | 6/4/09
teen agers do tend you cry and b*tch over petty things... but when you grow up being abused in more then one way... you KNOW what pain is...you know what heartbreak and sadness is... you dont need to be a grown person to know what true pain is
The True Beauty of Evanescence | Reviewer: xxx Fire Angel xxx | 10/29/08
i will say that i am not a teenager yet and so i would not have experienced so much heartache and sadness but i would just like to get across a point. the one thing i find so amazing, truly moving and inspiring about both evanescence and within temptation is that when they're singing, they're doing it cos they want to. but the main thing is, when they sing their songs, they sing it as if they truly no the meaning of life. and iv got to say that that is truly amazing. who really does no wat the tru meaning of life is? and this song especially - it expresses so many emotions. i cant relate to this song but i not only cried inside, i bled inside with amy. and the power and feeling she puts into it. wow. if all people - especially insensitive males (no offense guys) - could feel the way amy does in this song, the world would be such a better place, filled with compassion and love. of course, ther'd still b hate but its good to no that in the world we live in nowadays, that someone still gets it, that sum1 can stand up and sing to us, to be a beacon of hope for all those who hav given up. bcos of people like amy lee and sharon den adel, i think that is truly the reason y we are still sane in this world of chaos. i mean, look around, no one agrees anymore. and perhaps most people wont get wat they talk about, but at least thers sum1 els u can relate to. evanescence and within temptation are a gift to this race and this generation. and perhaps im too young to understand wat it feels like, but i no im not the only one out ther who can really reach out to these amazing and beautiful ppl. without them, i dont no how i would have ever survived. thankyou amy lee, you are a gift for the soul and for one's sanity. and thankyou for this song and all others. and u no, it doesnt matter if most ppl dont get it, if they cant c the true beauty, ther not worth it. u truly hav to see for urself y ppl like u and me hav fallen in love with song like this.

evanescence is the best band. this song is so POWERFUL and just has so much emotion! i, like other people, can relate to this song. people who go through that kind of stuff never really get over it. i'm glad there is such a beautiful, inspirational song about it.
lets not be haters | Reviewer: Raven | 5/13/08
shattered_dream_girl: I agree with you, yet I don't agree with you. Some of the preps, yes, barely know what Evanescence or Lacuna Coil or Within Temptation or Paramour or any of those great Goth/Emo bands ARE, and when they try to get it they fail hideously. I actually had a girl tell me the other day that "Bring Me To Life" was evil-you know, the whole "resurrection" idea. Needless to say I told her that her mind was not worth the ten bucks she spent on black hair dye. However, some preps DO get it... they just don't like it.
sad :-( | Reviewer: introvert_amplifier | 4/5/08
this is one of the saddest song i have ever heard. and amy pulled and made that saddness and hurt felt by all the listeners because of her voice which is full of true emotions. no one can sing like her. hearing her voice sing makes me feel the song even more.

this song is filled with so many emotions just like their other songs, but i really admire this one. i think her lyrics have alot of meaning, and they inspire me and probably many of you evanescence fans aswell unlike other artists who write songs about utter nonsense :|
Evanescence is truly one of a kind.

Absolutely moving. I'm in love with this song. I just love the way Amy sings this, her voice gives me the chills and I want to cry right now.
I found my way out... And you'll never hurt me agaaaaaaaaaaaain.
Real Evanescence fans!!! | Reviewer: shattered_dream_girl | 11/29/07
Somehow, I believe that is if you're a true Evanescence fan, you can actually feel the emotion and feeling that the song was meant to output. But I'm sick and tired of seeing all of these preppy people and girlie girls trying to go goth and crap, and they act like they can relate to any of this. I think they should stick to their Hillary Duff and Britney Spears crap!
They could never understand the true message behind Evanescence.
WOW | Reviewer: Jase | 9/13/07
This is probably one of the most moving songs of the time...if only more people knew it. but i guess its good that only really the ev fans like it because its almost like its personal to everyone... anyway i love the contrast in this song...i think thats what makes it so powerful the way she just throws this emotion at you.
I love im not buying baby the way she sings it really gives the song so much power.
Effing brilliant
