I love this song. I don't care if it's supposed to be about a higher being or your other half or whatever, the song's meant to reach people. To touch their hearts, which it did for me. Amy Lee is an amazing singer, Evanescence is an amazing band, and I think they have a perfect sound. This song will never die!!! X3

I do like this song. Well I love it but the chorus annoys me a bit. It could be a great chorus but the backing vocal bit makes it hard to hear what is being said and takes the beauty away from the lyrics. The lyrics are beautiful it would be nice to hear them properly.

p.s Not everything about love or whatever is about Twilight.

I agree that it can be interpreted in many different ways. I honestly think it means she loves some one too much to stay away... that she can't live without them.

And as usual... she's amazing, this song is amazing, and the lyrics!

The great thing about Amy is that her lyrics always have openness about them so that others can interpret however they want, and the song never loses its meaning because she still has hers, but in fact, it gains meaning because millions of people have their own interpretation.
I personaly heard this song and my first interpretation was of God, but then, after my fiance and I had our first fight, I found that this song meant just as much to me as a song about giving yourself to a partner. And isnt your partner in your eyes ALSO supposed to be a higher being for you to love, cherish, and worship?

wouldn't october have different meanings for different people?
to some, the song would be about surrendering your life to a higher being or god/dess.
to others it coudl be about a different person, or maybe a group of people.

didn't it say 'i fall into your abounding grace'? no one else has grace but God alone. personally, i think it is about surrendering to the Most High. but like, they're not Christian, so they're totally screwed.

This song is well written and it makes me happy and sad at the same time. I could feel its power touch my soul and just...the way it is. I don't think this is a religious song necessarily. It seems kinda Twilight to me.
